Hey mate thank you so much for this. I'm a pretty casual player and have to watch a few guides to keep up with the player base. Your explanation of the wait before popping seraphim was like a tipping point for me. I also really appreciate how you explained the reasoning behind each step, as many guides simply focus on which buttons to press which gear to use. I never get top dps and and today I maintained top spot in every m+ I ran. I'd love to see more content in 9.1 if you would be so inclined.

Thank you, I really appreciate this! My plans for 9.1 involve switching mains to a balance/feral druid, so maybe I'll make a guide for that once I understand the class better. Until then, I have a google doc outlining an "all in one" dps guide, covering everything I can think of. Kinda in the vein of the cooldown timing section in this here video, it could apply to everyone, explaining "why" more than "how" Thanks again for the comment. I will say though, I don't really make videos because I want to be a wow youtuber or anything like that. I just do it when I feel like what I have to say may help someone, or when it sounds fun. So, I can honestly say that I have no idea when my next video will be or what it will be about.

This is the first guide that actually helped me understand how to do my rotation and why. I've been maining holy since BFA and now my guild has asked me to go Retribution, and my damage today (on the first raid night) was mediocre to say the least. Now I can see what I did wrong, and hopefully, how to solve it. Thank you so much!

That's a very good in-depth guide, it'd be great if you could cover some of the points that were left out as you mentioned. But in a overall, very well explained and also covered essential topics that are very seldom to find on YT for begginers as a ret paladin!!

The advice about it being ok to over cap holy power once or twice, right before seraphim is really astute. You really need that blade of wrath to get that last TV in the ES window.

Great video, really insightful and I would love to see more from you on the ret paladin! I tried this out changing from the more passive oriented build and got a noticeable 15% increase without any gear changes. However I didn't love the play style, it feels clunky with so many spells. I don't know what blizz was thinking, but I ended up stringing everything together in a macro and just smashing it. Maybe I did it wrong but it kind of made it less fun for me personally.

I have a lot of experience as ret and whilst I see this build in theory makes sense, I find it overly clunky. I much prefer to take Righteous Verdict and divine purpose. When combined with the Final verdict leggo, the entire build just flows. I do still use Final Reckoning because its an awesome talent and is really fun. According to sims, im loosing about 100 dps, which nothing when compared to the amount possibly lost because of burst windows being interrupted by raid mechanics . Plus less downtime and so a lot more fun. However this is one of the better guides I've seen on youtube so keep up the good work

In m+ AOE I think it is more valuable to quickly generate 3 holy power then seraphin followed by divine toll (full hp), final recogning, spend generate, spend and so on... Just keep in mind the tank still needs to generate enough therat so that you dont get aggro and die instant. ^^

Only if the pack will literally die right after you do this rotation. If it's a high key on fortified and you find that the pack you just busted is not dead yet, maybe half hp, you had time... yeah you could've waited and generated more overall holy power.while using more divine storms in the FR window.

Dude execution sentence must be before final reckoning, because FR lasts 8 sec also and ES must hit on FR duration if u want it buffed

Incorrect. ES snapshots the targets current state of debuffs, much like how bleeds work on feral druid. You can test it yourself or ask the paladin discord.

The center group of abilities I made myself using Weakauras, and my party/raid frames are vuhdo, specifically profiles made by petzergling. You can look him up on Wago.io to get the profiles yourself. Other than that, I use bartender for my action bars (which are mostly hidden), move anything to make my quest list on the right smaller, and sexymap for the minimap.

I'm playing a pala, mainly prot for m+ and Raid (HC, mytic). But sometimes there is also a need that I play Ret, because our other two tanks aren't so good as dps. Currently I'm on Venthyr, because General build and ashen hallow is so strong. So, is there a chance with Kyrian also performing well with both specs?

You can't go wrong with either, but divine toll is superior dps, while also being vital to hold aggro on many targets as prot when your dps is bursting (like in mythic +)

You can and some people do, but I personally have not so far. That is something I'd like to test.

(PVE Question) Im seeing that most of the top players logs are stopping making legendaries with haste and are prioritizing mastery and versa, does haste really stop being the strongest stats after strength? Or is this just a reflection of pvp stats?

Not only in the legendary, but in the stats that we should focus on, cuz mastery is clearly better for dgs and versa helps a lot in high keys

@@himotuvwx yeah, generally speaking you should stack mastery. An easy way to think about this is just to always be sure to sim using the "top gear" section of raidbots. Other than that, there is a potential build that a few have achieved that essentially stacks mastery the same way, but also stacks haste up to 22 or 23%. The haste at this threshold allows for another spender to be used in the final reckoning window, but getting this much haste AND high mastery (over 40%) is extremely difficult and nets a relatively small dps gain. You basically need bis 233 gear from mythic and a few 226 pvp pieces. I don't find it necessary in the slightest to 99 parse, so it's just up to you if you want to min/max that hard.

This is by far the most stupid Roation there is in the game i reackon. It sickens me how Retris are forced to play weird Rotations far from good old FCFS, to optimaize their DPS. The worst part is, that i dont even have enough Buttons ( and i use shift modifiers on every available Button) to fit this into my Keysetup. But thanks for the great work! Ill try to get around this, since its dmg output seems insanely good.

Try out some Ctrl modifiers if you need the room. It will give you 50% more buttons, and it won't take too long to get used to.
