Passing game is too easy while running game is brutal. The main way I use my RB is for outlet or screen pass or when you just want to wind the clock down. Once in awhile he can break through for about 7yds. Most of the time it will be 2yd or less or negative yrds. If you want to complete all hall of fame achievements, you have to break the 150 running yrds in the very first game (game 16 of your first year) that's the only chance you will have. Even though it is very likely you can get multiple undefeated season, you can still fall victim to poor time management. And since you have no control over the defense, it's best to beef up your defense. The most important stat is Stamina, to prevent injuries. Build up your training facility first then rehab. Only build up your stadium to get to 3 cc per win. Take advantage of coordinator's special trait. The only ones I look for are likeable, tallent spotter or experience. Before draft, you can resign > trade your players with expiring contract for extra draft picks.

I actually find the running easier than passing...I ran 95% of the time cuz I was constantly getting 1st downs and scoring. Course I had a 5 star RB so that could play a part.

I am in my 67th year with 67th Superbowl coming up and chance to go for $300 Million salary cap. 😃. Finally, Extreme mode feels lot more easier. I deleted many decades of 5 or so Teams. Too addictive, I calmed down (stop playing) but Extreme mode revived my gun and run fun.

There's a lot to like about this game, and I'm really excited about it's potential moving forward. The relative simplicity in game play, combined with the strategy/building aspect makes for a really fun experience. I'm curious to see how the game evolves, possibly with the addition of increased offensive control, which would allow for more playing styles. I do have some issues with game play, after the latest upload. Issues first: 1) Playing on difficult/dynamic should not affect the reality of a dominant team facing a weak team. My 5-star offense vs. 1.5 defense often leads to very little productivity running the ball and blanket man-to-man coverage. 2) FAR too many interceptions currently. I'd love to see more defensive batted balls, in completions. 3) Too many poor play designs, not taking into consideration the game context. For instance, down by 7, 3 seconds to go, shouldn't at least 1 WR run a 9 route? 4) Running the ball seems like a poor strategy, even with a stellar RB. Recommendations: 1) More star players. Perhaps 6 on each side of the ball? 2) The ability to roster more than 1 RB. This would help when a RB is injured, and also allow for 2 RB sets. 3) Allow for 3 set audibles. This would solve the above issue (hailmary situations), as well as getting out of really bad play calls on important downs. STILL, love this game! Keep making it better! If you do, people will pay.

I was annoyed at first with the forced plays but I’ve grown to enjoy it. Part of the challenge to me is seeing what you can make of the plays the game gives you and if a certain play is particularly heinous you can always audible a new one. Maybe having different OC’s have different playbooks or styles would be interesting though. Then at least you’d get to chose the deck your cards are shuffled in

Also for me when you win the first retro bowl it is hard to repeat bc everyone asks for a big contract and its hard to keep your good players bc they are too expensive so make sure to buy the salary cap increase.

For defense have two 4 star plus LBs one 3 plus DL and one 3.5 plus DB. LBs are the best and most important. They can get interceptions and sacks, force fumbles and make tackles! Plus I love that retro bowl development has listened to fans and added a lot of what he talks about as negative! Great game!

I having a hard time learning how to pass the ball, all I do is the run every single time, to the point where my running back has over 2000 yards rushing and 20 Td's and I'm only in week ten, still this is a really fun game

Its funny I was sent to the Jets to rebuild, 4 years I won them a bowl, left for my team in Detroit and the A.i still maintains my old team in the Jets, 5 years later I still see them in the Retro Bowl

I have stopped playing Madden due to the fast game play of Retro Bowl and u can play anywhere. Ive actually moved every team and pretty much created a new league. Love that part. My complaints aren't super bad. I wish there were more offensive plays, more audible capabilities, and the big one of free agents. I wish the free agents weren't like 4 and 5 star and cost a ton. In the NFL, free agents in mid season aren't going to be ranked that high. I did buy the extra tokens so it is nice to have those available for stadium upgrades, etc.

I love this game! I always look for a game that gives me a challenge and this is the PERFECT game for that. I've downloaded quite a few (ever since deleting madden mobile from 2 years ago) like stickman football and a couple of no name ones. This is by far the BEST football game I've played 🙌

Game is fun and worth the buck. Would like to at least see the Defense play. Let us choose to blitz or not. Choose defense packages. Let us see kick off and punt returns too. We should be able to choose a fair catch or return it. It is just a running play after all, just let us control the returner. Would like to see end zone celebrations too.

I've played both Madden NFL mobile and Retro Bowl, but tbh I like RB better. Sure Madden mobile has better graphics, as well as better playing experience, but Madden lags so much more on my phone tbh. Also, I like that in RB, you're only playing when you have possession of the ball. In Madden mobile it got so annoying when the ball got intercepted by the opposing team, and you'd have to tackle the other team, with lower motivation as your ball possession got stolen. Relating to interception, I like how in RB you can control your power and direction while passing. Meanwhile in Madden Mobile, you can only pass it to a certain player, which could lead to an interception. In Addition, Madden mobile is also by EA too...

All you need is 7 star defensive players and 5 on offense. If you're really good you can win with less defensemen. QB,2WR,TE,RB no kicker or OL. You don't win on extreme kicking fieldgoals

You are on Dynamic mode, it adjust to your skill level. Also fast and slow plays are man or zone defensive plays. Game plays slow or fast to confuse you. Read the outside corners for slow or fast plays.

Just jumped on the bandwagon. I spend more time customizing my teams jerseys than anything. The difficulty scaling though can be annoying in typical TSB fashion. I've needed a 5 star defense to win it all because anything less than that. Your defense doesn't stop opposing offenses and they score TD's every possession, and if you make one mistake on offense you're losing by 2 scores easily. It can also get annoying when youre winning many games how tough opposing defenses can get. All the sudden my max strength max speed RB can break any tackles vs an opposing defense that has 1 1/2 stars. Your star receiver is all the sudden quadruple covered. And the PC will cheat more on undercutting routes and spying where you'll be forced to make much harder throws. Game could use some new plays and rework some that has bad rout combinations like a WR dig route while on the same side you're RB is running a wheel route and you have half your routes cancelled out because of bad play design. Its still an addicting game so much this little bad boy offers but improvements can be made.

Yeah, but this isn't a complete review of the game...The game is great as the reviewer has said, but after season 1 or 2, its gets a bit frustrating. If you go up against any kind of a decent defense the difficulty gets tough, and there are "forced failure" mechanics in this game that despite the developers best efforts cannot be overlooked by a "reviewer". Constantly, at random times, see back-to-back-to-back dropped passes or outright pass interferences. This is with multiple 5 star receivers or running backs, in an obvious attempt by the developers to put you behind. They are clever; they don't do it every game our on consecutive possessions (well sometimes they do), but it does happen. Aside from that, its a good game, problem is it's there and so if you are rating this on an App Game (1-5), its a 3. This game is like all other "free to play" games it gets you going, increases the difficulty, and when it can't get you to lose, they try to subtly have you lose (i.e. defense can't stop nothing, 5 star players drop passes, or are outright interfered with). "Free to play" game developers should be banned. Just pay outright for a game, like the old days. The problem is, is that the developers make more money by exploiting your frustration with manipulative mechanics. Shame on the developers.

Idk what you’re talking about man but I had played like 5+ seasons in the process of the review. And after the first couple seasons it actually gets easier as you build your roster. I’ve won maybe 14 Super Bowls I’ve lost count now. I haven’t experience thieve forced failure mechanics but it’s also a different game now than it was 2 ago at release so it could have changed

@@mikeluit3027 I did purchase it for 99 cents. At the time of this review you actually could only play like 5 games until you had to buy it for 99 cents. and to me that was a steal for $1. I know since then its become a free game so maybe the mechanics within the code have changed with that? Im not sure.
