This was really fun to watch and hear you talk about these, Stephanie! I've never seen that Bow Wow Wow or X CD before. I have all my X on vinyl and have seen them live as well, and John Doe solo. Concrete Blonde: that takes me back. Still In Hollywood! That's one GLJ I don't have in any format. Great stuff all around! 😎🎶

Hi Stephanie ! Love Siouxsie & The Banshees cover of This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Us. X & The Plimsouls were both live favorites of mine who first got played on Rodney Bingenheimers show on Sunday on KROQ. Rodney aka The Mayor Of The Sunset Strip. I had a Cheap Trick jacket back in the day & sold it for 3 figures in the early 80's ! Take Care .

I'll have to revisit that Siouxsie cover-it sounds interesting. It’s great that you were into X & The Plimsouls, though; definitely some great music there. You seem like you were really in tune with the scene back then, especially with that Cheap Trick jacket! I remember listening to Rodney Bingenheimer on KROQ in the late '80s/early '90s. Had to stay up late as a young teen! Do you ever listen to him on XM radio? I wonder if he still has a show. I’ve seen "The Mayor of Sunset Strip" documentary-kind of a downer, but I still think he’s pretty cool.

Another fun show Stephanie if you can ever find it i definitely recommend annebellas 1986 solo album fever its a fun 80s dance pop album with a whole bunch of guests including mic Murphy and David frank from the system remember that the system were fantastic and look at that Gene loves Jezebel kiss of life this one took a while to grow on me and you definitely miss Michael on this album however Jay does an awesome job on this album why cant i is definitely one of their finest songs its an epic jealous and walk away are good from that album until next time stay festive and be well

Hi George, thanks for the recommendations! I'll check out Annabella’s Fever. I agree about Kiss of Life-it’s definitely different without Michael, but you’re right, it grows on you. I’ve been to shows with both Jay’s and Michael’s versions of GLJ over the years and have seen Michael’s version more often since he’s based in CA. I even saw Annabella perform at the Troubadour along with Michael’s Gene Loves Jezebel. I got her autograph and had a chance to talk to Michael-both are very nice people!

@djstephwest you have some really cool stories not many top acts make it to my neck of the woods but it's definitely getting better for concerts around where I live and also there's some good live venues a town away from where I live in Edmonton in a town called Enoch we have a resort and casino called river Cree where some really good classic 80s and 90s acts come and play a flock of seagulls played there last month and I missed it

I got into Halfnelson when they first came out. Then they changed their name to Sparks, then they reissued the first album under the name Sparks. I've been a loyal fan ever since. The earlier albums are great, up to Kimono My House, after that they are still quite good but never to the level of the early albums. You continue to show that you have great taste. Do you like fifties, sixties, and seventies music also? I listen to a lot of material, consider myself a musicologist. Ever need any info, feel free to reach out. Love your videos. Love your passion for the music, I'm quite passionate also.

I didn’t know that about Sparks but it sounds like you know a lot about them. While I don’t collect a lot from the '50s and '60s, I do enjoy the music from those decades.Thanks again for the kind words about my videos-I’ll be sure to reach out if I need any music info! It's always awesome to connect with someone who shares the same passion for music. Have a great day!

i just got rid of that Best of Bow Wow Wow. Reason is cause after i picked that up about 10 yrs ago i really became a fan and bought all their albums separately so didn’t need the best of anymore. love X too. saw them last year. still delivering live. that was my first Replacements album i ever got. saw them live only once too but it was on reunion tour. still good show. i have that Plimsouls too but need to revisit it. i cant even begin to talk VH if ya look back at my old vids you’d know why. Still in Hollywood is best Concrete Blonde. That Jim Carroll album is awesome. Got the vinyl - few years ago and loved it so much went out and got the CD. Ya know Stephanie I feel like you raided my collection w this video. hahah. I dont wanna comment on every album but i could….

Looks like I raided your collection- Ha ha, definitely! It seems like we have some seriously similar tastes in music. It's always cool to find someone who’s into the same stuff! That's awesome that you own all the Bow Wow Wow albums! Thanks for your comments-really appreciate them. I’m planning to catch up on my KZbin watching this weekend, and your BOO BOO Records video is at the top of my list! Cheers.

Indiscreet is my favorite Sparks album.
@djstephwestАй бұрын
I will check it out. I've heard a few tracks from Indiscreet, but not the whole album yet. They have such a unique sound. Kinda remind me of a cross between T-Rex, Brian Eno & Mott the Hoople.

Hello again. Shall I try Replacement here or Concrete Blond? Cant buy everything. Can you play any instrument yourself and where is the snow.....HE
@djstephwestАй бұрын
Hello! Tough choice between The Replacements and Concrete Blonde-both are awesome. If you're deciding between The Replacements and Concrete Blonde, it depends on what you're in the mood for. The Replacements are energetic, rebellious & vulnerable- a mix of punk and indie. If you're looking for something more emotional and reflective, Concrete Blonde has a a darker gothy rock sound. As for me, I’m an amateur guitar player-nothing too fancy, just punk rock level, haha. It’s 70 degrees here in Southern California, so seeing snow would definitely be a "Christmas miracle"-ha ha! How is the weather in Sweden? Let me know which album you end up going with!
