For pulling it back I did something like what you did but I took the front part and placed it underneath the hair that is still let out and bobby pinned it underneath everything so you can't see the pin, it has the same results and stayed secure for me :)

Tried this for Christmas and loved it! Wasn't sure it would work on my hair as it's long, heavy and thick... I let it set for about 30 mins while I made some Coquito and when I let it loose it looked amazing and lasted till the next day! Next time I will do more sections but this definitely works, gracias!
