You forgot to mention what a fantastic day you'd had on BMW's behalf... Great vid as usual

Yay! Keyless ride. A solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

Ended up buying this bike and absolutely love it. There is something so addictive that wants to make you get back on and ride again, even after a longer ride. I have no issues with the suspension, and even find it plush enough in dynamic, maybe because I weigh 60kg for 1.73cm. The torque is incredible as of 4,500rmp and the handling is nimble and light, yet assured. Only downsides I've noticed are the clutch is a little stiff for urban riding and the first gear is very on/off, again making it hard to ride smoothly in dense city traffic. But overall a 10/10!

Thank you for that review, honestly the first one to really talk about suspension. I have a 21 year R NineT and swapped the rear suspension for Wilbers, and the bike is transformed, handling is sublime and it’s altogether more comfortable. I do think the new one looks to be improved in many areas so I do see that as progress, and I love that new digital dash. The roads around Cardiff and Basingstoke seem to have improved somewhat

For a bike using an engine that was, essentially, eclipsed by the LC in 2013 (ie it’s paid for itself), decent suspension is a reasonable expectation at this price.

Dang! that bike is fast - went from the outskirts of Basingstoke to the very similar looking outskirts of Cardiff in like, 3 seconds. I reckon it must be the editing right?

I missed whether you still felt it was too small for a 6ft plus type geezer. Am I also gone daft, or does the 719 edition have updated suspension/forks?

I have a 2023 r9t. Is it worth the upgrade? Or is the ride similar? I actually still prefer the looks of the old r9t.

'the original' sounds good to me. Especially if you can get one with decent mileage and then spend a few quid on persinalising it instead. Just the info i was after. Thanks

You hate golf. I used to golf a lot, then started riding BMW ‘s. Just purchased one of these, so good to get post purchase confirmation …. Delivered this week as ship to Australia had to go the long way. Something about trouble in the Middle East. Us older blokes need something more than golf alone.

I'd have the NineT personally, I fit it better and it suits my riding better (ie it can lean over further!)

Overly hard suspension is poor on any bike, let alone one this costly. I'm only 10 stone and had to have my own bike resprung by Maxton in Cheshire. They did a great job for just £90 on a standard shock that had only done a few hundred miles and cost me about £30 odd quid on eBay. Previously, being launched off the seat over bumps at anything under 50 MPH played hell with my cervical myelopathy. I'd not want to pay over 14 grand for the same torture.

Unfortunately they went less sporty with this one vs the outgoing R9T. Much slacker head angle, lower rear, heavier, smaller brakes, and longer wheelbase. Should have gone completely the other way.
