hi, What is the accessory set-up on you have on the Tripod. What brand ect. Where can I purchase one. Show a Video on the tripod and your accessories, it looks like a good set up for shooting matches.

1) this rig is not "vintage" by any stretch of the imagination. 2) just because there are newer faster and flatter shooting chamberings doesn't mean the old reliables are irrelevant. The "classics" are classic for a reason. A few weeks ago i took my 308 it with some handloads i thought were topped with 168gr Nosler Custom Competition bullets. Turns out they were 175gr and i shot my first 1/2 moa group. 5 groups total with an average of .73 moa. Fucking love my 308.

Not a precision bolt gun but I brought my M1A out to play with in about 20 years. Scoped it and a Bradley cheek piece. Lake City Match brass from 1993 and opened a can of 1995 vintage IMR4895 and Sierra 175 MK’s. Fun.

berger 155 hybrid might help with the recoil. Peregrine 146gr Glider could give you even less recoil and more speed with slightly lower BC than the 155gr berger. Very cool though. Kinda want to slap on the peep sights on my 308 target rifle again. Nothing like old school in modern gear!!

The Brits liked a 155gr over some VV powder , at 2950 fps out of a 26 inche barrel .

Try loading 220 grain bullets in some Winchester .308 brass and some CFE-223 900 yards and the wind barely bothers it….. I know how it is….here in Northern Nevada, wind is kicking and you need all of the bucking abilities as possible. I used the MK-39 with some 200’s on 2 Jan 2025 and they work awesome as well. First round hits.

The only thing “vintage” about that is the cartridge. If you want a true “vintage” build, do a production Rem 700 action, M24 barrel, McMillan fiberglass stock, and a Leupold mk4 3.5-10x with a mil-dot reticle and MOA turrets.
