Hey 18 minutes of suspense, you can't beat that😄 The 90's were a great time for ne aswell, as were the 80's and 70's( I'm old😬). Can't beat a nice walk in the wilds to clear your head, good stuff fella👍

It must have been a great feeling when your kids show an interest in your childhood games. To be fair, they're not a million miles away from the indie games that come out now. A 2D sprite based action platformer isn't so alien to today's generation.

Thanks for the comment, mate. It's been amazing playing the 16-bit classics with the children, and the hour we spent doing so flew by, lol. Seeing it through their eyes took me right back to childhood. Fair point on the indie-developed games as well, buddy, never thought of that.

Really enjoyed the ramble, great vr with really good points, many of us can relate to. Great idea to get active whilst doing a vid…we don’t wanna hear you pushing patreon to pay for flash new hiking boots next 😉 Once again your getting me breathing heavy just watching 😱 We are lucky to have both the nostalgia filled memories with older games and also such great looking and playing newer games now 😉👍

For just £20 a month, you could join my "Footstep" tier of content, getting access to my ramble videos 24 hours before they go live on KZbin, lol. You will never see that on my channel! That being said, it seems so many people are pushing the pay-to-watch videos, which is not the way KZbin used to be; people are doing this for non-hobbyist reasons, which is really sad as it's diluted the community and leaves a void of content that people used to passionately create. Out of interest, mate, are you heading up to the Black County gaming market in October? It would be great to meet you one of these days. Also, do you have any subject suggestions for the next Ramble video?

@@PompeyGamesRoom your right fella, it’s really sad that people are forgetting what the channel was all about at the beginning and have started to chase the fame and £££ and the audience soon find the passion missing. I won’t be going to any events this year, too much on and not the cash to do it all however, next year is my year to get out and about…would be great to meet you. All of a sudden there are a fair few vids going round on this matter of patreon/tiered charges etc - might be worth u chucking your take on it all next ramble! All the best fella 😉👍

Good to hear your thoughts on this Sean, I think you made a great point about your kids perhaps getting you involved in more modern stuff, I think that may happen for lots of people You're right, the 90's were amazing and the best ever time in gaming and as a result the best time ever to be growing up I wonder if lots of subs happened during lockdown and then when normal life returned they stopped watching KZbin 🤔 A good ramble👍

Seeing it through their eyes took me right back to childhood. I would love to lose all the dead accounts from my channel to give me a better idea of who's watching; at the moment, I can't really seem to find out my actual number of subs, as my videos range between 200 - 400 views when they are uploaded initially. So I'm guessing that my actual sub base would be between that number, in all honesty. The 90's will always be the best decade for me, such amazing care free times as a child!

Retro gaming really does bring out the best memories, i do enjoy modern games as well, but retro games just is something special :) nice to see you going on a walk and enjoying nature while talking about gaming :) great stuff mate :) I think retro is better, not just for the memories, but it just feels like the games have there own charm and soul, modern games are great but they can seem souless sometimes haha I see you rocking the Sens jacket again :) Great video mate :)

Ha ha, on the Senators stuff, you might like a season prediction video that I'm filming with my Canadian cousins a month before the start of the season. It is not the sort of stuff my channel usually covers, but it reflects my interests and me, and I want to see how badly I can predict the Senator's upcoming season.

Great ramble whilst rambling. Some good points, whilst a ps5 is great, it's definitely not necessary yet. The ps4/xbox one has some great indie games that help renew those old memories. And give new experiences. It's a great time to be a gamer I think If your knees hurt. I definitely recommend cycling. My knees were the same when I ran years ago. And cycling solved my health/ weightloss at the time. Plus cycling ling means you can go further afield and is more enjoyable than treading the same places over and over again. Id take a luke warm coffee if i got those views❤ Great stuff ✌️✌️

Thanks for the comment, mate. Yes, I'm not 100% sold on the new era of consoles. They are amazing, but they're just not essential for me yet, as you sort of say about yourself. LOL, the knees have been going for years due to lots of miles with marathons, multiple sports, and general training. It's finally catching up with me. Cycling is a good shout, and I appreciate that it's a great exercise. The only thing around where I live is that cyclists are pretty obnoxious, thinking they own the road. I couldn't bring myself to join them on the road as we got the large groups heading through the village all the time, and they were always gobbing all over the place, shouting to each other, and cycling 3 side by side at all times, lol. But it's a great shout, and I know that loads of people swear by cycling and start off with an exercise bike. Meant to say, mate, whatever you're doing fitness-wise is working, bud; your recent uploads make you look really trim.

An hour walk is the perfect time to get some thoughts recorded but you have some good rural areas 😊 the most modern I have are Wii/360/PS3 😂 but I have a PC that I play more modern releases on. My kids both love gaming but they're not interested in retro stuff at all :D! I have to play Minecraft if I want to game with my youngest, but she just spends the whole time trying to blow me up :D! Recently I've been playing more retro than modern, but in all honesty I don't tend to think of gaming in those terms anymore. Nowadays I see it as good games and bad games, not bothered what console it's on! Still got loads of my old videos, I just set them to private, was sick of getting all the questions about MD games :D!

I get the feeling that I will end up playing that with her in the next few years as she loves her gaming. Do you play on the modern or retro console out of interest, Stu? With your collection, you must be spoiled for choice. You need to show your old videos, mate; you have one of the best collections on KZbin, and I would love to see some of your old videos again. Enjoyed that Sean, watched it whilst on my treadmill so in a way, I was on that walk too 🤣 Great idea for a vid though, nice and healthy and a bit of nature in the background as well. Yeah, as you say, channels come and go which is a shame on one hand but new channels always arrive. It's the circle of KZbin life, I suppose! KZbin has definitely changed though that's for sure but decent and down to earth people will always be around, we just have to dig a little deeper to find them these days because of the algorithm. As for modern gaming, I enjoy it but I'm a casual gamer. I don't tend to buy that many and instead will buy a couple and rotate them and then 1, 2 or 3 months later, do the same. I'll always love retro because of the nostalgia but quite frankly I get just as much of a kick owning them and seeing them than playing them. Always been that way to be honest so whilst I love them, I don't actually play them all that often - just every now and then when I have the time and I'm in the mood etc.

Alex, it's great to hear from you, buddy; nice treadmill action as well, lol.
