I am LOVING that she said "Green is the new neutral" As someone with nearly exclusively black/ white items in their home, I recently branched out & have velvet green sofas, a rug with large leaves on it, & tons of plants. If nothing else green definitely is a neutral when you have plants around!

Green is my favourite so to me it will always be a staple. Another nice neutral could be a tan or terracotta for you

Yes, those earthy greens🪴 are truly growing🌿 on me in design. Olive green is in my clothing color palette. It goes handsomely with black🖤, white🤍, brown🤎, gray⚫, chambray blue💠, navy✨, & pops of red🍒. Everyone was taken aback😳 when my dad 🖌️painted a tall dresser chest in a vibrant kelly green & added gold campaign style accents. It's mod & blends quite remarkably with his darkly finished Thomasville Zen suite. When it comes to home 🏡 interiors I favor black & white too, but I find it needs grounding with at least a few pieces of naturally stained timber🪵 items too. A velvet sofa is def on my ⭐ wish list〰️and green is very appealing. It strikes me as both elegant & elemental, so I'm starting to see it's value as a neutral. 💚 Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

Painting the cabinets does change the whole look, but I've never been in a rental where the landlord would allow a tenant to paint them. That green paint is gorgeous.
@jessakent20492 жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking! If they're already painted, that's one thing. You can re-paint them to the original color. But faux woodgrain to olive green? All my landlords would've charged me the cost of buying all new cabinets.

Wow! That is awful, we have been in our rental home for 14 years, and have never had our landlord raise our rent or ask to come in and see it. Such an awesome kitchen makeover! I love it! My husband & I put oak cabinets in our 1910 Bungalow renovation in the early 80's. When we sold the house 27 yrs. later they were really dated. I have sage green cabinets in my current house. I so love them.

It looks lovely! Personally (because I love colour and mood), I would have painted the end wall (the one that the cooker is against) a deep teal/blue/turquoise colour. I've binged videos over a few days. Your use of space is impressive. What I find a little puzzling is that every design is basically the same....black, white and brown with blue, green, lavender, pink, and gold accents. All fabrics are organic, textured neutrals. Wood is usually light in color. Whether dark and moody or post-modern, or hotel chic, the recipe starts at a different place but somehow ends up at the same destination.

I am OCD just enough that the backsplash peel-&-stick being so off-centered would drive me crazy! It's not just off-centered from wall to wall, it's off-centered over the sink! If it was just centered over the sink, I could live with the wall to wall. I just don't think I could even go into the kitchen as the backsplash currently sits. The plant you put on top of the wall cabinets (when you pivoted to growlights) are pothos. Pothos is a well-known popular houseplant which is famously forgiving of care. They tolerate everything from bright filtered (not direct) sunlight to near darkness and water-only to desert conditions. Seriously, for a year I kept a pothos in a windowless bathroom whose light was rarely on, and it flourished. They are really, really hard to kill.
