Retro Style Design

Retro style is a revolutionary design set apart by its use of pattern, color, and texture. Patterns within this style vary greatly but are generally bold and geometric. Patterns could be found on wall paper, flooring, and fabrics. Colors were also bold in retro design. Avocado green, red, white and black were all popular colors to use in any design application from refrigerators to flooring. The way color was arranged played a large part in distinguishing the style. Solid blocks of colors complimented by textured accents created interest in their interiors. Texture was often achieved through textiles - shag rugs, tweed pillows, and beaded applicate.
