It's a shame your guest wasn't very open to share the history of the item. I find that knowing the history of vintage items is a major part of the enjoyment of the renovation process. O well, regardless of is lack of enthusiasm, you kept the motivation going. Well done Sir!

Thanks for the comment. I also would like to have known more about its history. Originally, this episode was supposed to be 6 minutes long And only about retrobrighting in Denmark, And I could have made the AMIGA 600 in episode for itself, It was only supposed to take me 2 months to make, but it ended up being 4 months. I hope you stick around, More episodes are coming About different things.

retrobrighting works by oxidizing the surface of the plastic, this will cause the plastic to brittle faster and its only temporary.

The 40 vol one it's hydrogen peroxide exactly like brintoverilte but just in a different concentration

The memory in the A600 is DRAM, not Flash as far as i know.
@falloutlady
@falloutlady 2 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right We did pick it up one month ago. We actually filmed a lot about the RAM and the expansion card RAM. And we were going to Put a flash memory With workbench. And a lot of Amiga games and programs. But since we couldn't get it to work, a lot of the footage couldn't be used So during the editing I mix the clips together. I confused myself with memory flash over the DRAM U17 and 16, I've been looking at that schematics for such a long time that I've confused myself That I didn't notice When I uploaded the video. You are a truly AMIGA fan

How long does your solution last ? RetroBirght only work for 2 or 3 years before the brome into the plastic turn the plastic to yellow/brown again
@falloutlady
@falloutlady 2 жыл бұрын
That is a good question. When they made those computers from that era I guess they weren't thinking about the problem of the plastic turning, only the next products to sell, My best guess Is that it's the same As they use in the United States (Hydrogen peroxide) But it always depends on Where it is placed in one's home, The one thing One can do is Put some UV Protection Film to the windows to Reduce UV Rays. Maybe I should take a picture of the computer once a year in the same room with the same lights to see the difference, That could be a good follow up To see if the plastic starts to turn even when it's not near the sun light, That way we all can see How long it takes for it to turn🙂

Retrobrite is in my opinion a waste of time. I once used it to restore an old TV that was very yellowed. It weakens the plastic and within a couple of months, the TV had started to yellow again. Easier not to bother.
@falloutlady
@falloutlady Жыл бұрын
I can understand that. I appreciate that you sharing your story, With your experience With your TV, But I wouldn't say it was a waste of time. It was a great learning experience for me. Which is why I'm making a part 2. I've already filmed it, Four months ago, And I will release the video in 8 months, So we can see some of the results of the many, many tests I've done. There are many different types of plastic. I hope you come back and see it when I release it. 🙂

Ved ikke med plastik, men på metal virker brun sæbe normalt udmærket til at fjerne maling (smør sæben på ufortyndet og lad det sidde en dags tid, brug vand og en børste bagefter)

The common factor is uv light, maybe you can try just uv without any chemical product .

The good news is A Part 2 is coming in 8 months. Where there is tons of tests I've done. Everything has been filmed, but we have to wait. 8 months to see the results. To see What is the best method of Retrobrighting and what happens to stuff that's being Retrobrighting for a year?, And all the crazy tests I've done 😁And thanks for subscribing.

Nice studio buddy. You need to add more light in background to cover the shadows.
@falloutlady

Thanks. I'm going to make a video about how I built the studio One day. Every episode I make I upgrade the studio Little, I just needed to start filming something So I wasn't worried about it For this episode. But when it came to the second episode That requires Chroma key I put up some diffusion filters to the two of the lights on each side So there won't be any hard shadows, I wish my camera could do 10 bit and not 8 bit. But then again, I won't be worried. It doesn't have to be all the time perfect. Small mistakes can be fun To see.😂Stay tuned.

so where was the control - something with only the uv light?
@falloutlady
@falloutlady 2 жыл бұрын
If you're referring to the toothpaste. I said that I wanted to try toothpaste with UV lights. So there's no control. I said in the video that there was someone who tried toothpaste without UV lights and I want to try it, So there was never mentioned about only To use UV lights for itself, I think I understand from your point of view That it could also be interpretated to try only use UV lights With no toothpaste or hydrogen peroxide. I hope this answer your question.😊

What happens with 20hrs with just the UV, and no product?
@falloutlady
@falloutlady 2 жыл бұрын
It's a misunderstanding. I mentioned that someone tried toothpaste without UV lights. And I wanted to try toothpaste with UV lights to see what happens. But the good news is. One more episode is coming about Retrobrighting. But You have to wait A year To see the results due to some test That needs a year. So stay tuned.😉
