While in college, I bought a new dark metallic green 1969 Dodge Charger R/T, 400 cu.in., that someone pre ordered without power steering, power brakes, A/C, or rear stripe. It was a beast to steer but it was fun to drive. The 4 speed had a Hurst shifter with a bend so it was closer you. I drove it from Virginia to California. When I got to the desert, the fact I had no A/C didn't matter. I just cruised at 90 mph, with the windows open and leaned forward. The sweat on my back evaporated so fast it gave me a chill. Sold it for a new 1972 TVR. Wish I still had both.

@xxgrimravenxx51723 жыл бұрын
Lol nice, 9:34 is pretty good, coming from only the modern stuff I wonder what that feels like at speed, like how floaty does it get when you go faster, like my 06 rt Daytona gets floaty at 120mph but it digs back into the ground at 135 probably when the mild aero from the body shape starts to work, it is a slightly rounded brick afterall lol

A life long dream of mine is to travel to America and drive a black 69 dodge charger from LA to NY return, while listening to a song called *Going up the country*, before I die. I imagine this is me in this video =) Love from New Zealand! This is awesome thank you @Retro Classic Car.

Watching this makes me realize that an older Charger like this one would actually make a great daily driver, provided you aren’t concerned about gas prices. Appears to be a comfortable and smooth ride, and appears to handle well at normal highway speeds.

As long as reliability isn’t an issue. Doesn’t matter how much money and effort you put in, it’s still a 50 year old car, and will require lots of wrenching. If I ever see someone daily something like this I give them major props.

Welp, it wasn't until you actually started driving her on the road that I realized you're in the UK. I think if I were driving a car like that I'd want some kind of vision system... a mirror or a camera and screen... to give me a perspective down the road from the right hand side of the car. Otherwise overtaking will always be a little trickier. In any case, you're a lucky man indeed. What a beast of a car.
