That joystick is the one I always would have wanted as a kid!!! I hated the joysticks that were around, and just used a Master System pad to play C64 games in the end.

Love my Stand Up Gaming Pixel Memories "Project Firestart" diorama he made for me. Though we don't have a ton of C64 news, it's good to hear from you Louie!

Great idea with the joystick, can’t believe nobody thought of this back in the day. Thanks for uploading another great video

The double cable idea for the joystick feels so obvious and I am surprised they never did something for it back in the day.

@@RetroGamerNation I am pretty sure someone did make something similar in the 80’s. The way that it worked was that you had your normal button on the base your joystick, and this thing was a separate module that was a removable sleeve that went over the top of the joystick and had its own cable that went to the other joystick port. You could not use it with just any joystick… It fit only on top of its companion joystick. I don’t know what the logic was for that, but I do remember you had to take it off because the cable would get in the way sometimes if you were not using it. Forgive me I was probably 10 years old at the time so my memory is a little hazy, but I definitely remember the way it worked and that it was black with yellow buttons. In my mind it looked like the Gemini Gemstik And the sleeve went on top of the Atari style stick part giving it a trigger button. Maybe it was just a fever dream because I’ve never seen it anywhere these days. Thanks for a cool video!

You've got me intrigued. I might ask around to see if anyone else has recollections of it. Cheers.

Craptacular! Thanks for the round up again! Slim pickings then but the look at all the games from the Craptastic competition is much appreciated! Some fun original ideas there even.

Is there something like a "every modern c64 game worth playing" rom pack anywhere
@DavidGolder3 күн бұрын
Ouch, for those of us who grew up using the Atari joystick configuration the stick should be on the right and the button on the left.
@RetroGamerNation3 күн бұрын
The joystick configuration has been mentioned a few times. For me, having it the other way feels odd but I fully understand how it could be a deal breaker

@@RetroGamerNation It's still S-Video, right?

The PVM does have S-Video and it looks really good. I also use it with the Ultimate 64 with RGB SCART for an even sharper and more vibrant picture.
