@@DaveKatz1984 I am using the latest AetherSX2 app pre-ads. No hacks or tweaks, just vulkan as GPU rendered and 2x resolution for most games, 1.5 for a couple and 1x on all the ones that ran poorly. Nothing else

I’m gonna give it a few years. The RP 6 Pro might finally be able to play all of PS2 without issue, plus the 2TB SD cards should be a little cheaper by then too.

Something I’ve noticed in all the videos i have seen about portable emulation devices, is that most of the games are being played in 4:3 and not 16:9. I just want to know if it’s just a user preference and can be changed or if is just capped in a square shape🤔. Awesome video btw✨✨✨ I like the way you talk and share your opinion!🔥

It depends on the system and the game. Ratchet and Clank for example is 16:9 in the video. But you do have the option to stretch 4:3 onto 16:9 if you would rather have a stretched image than black bars. And some games have the option of both.

Because they're 4:3 games. Not all of them support 16:9 natively and not all of them play well with 16:9 hacks

I read somewhere that although the processor is strong, there was some discussion with how it handles the existing drivers less optimized as it is different architecture. I can't remember the details, but seems stuff like "Vulcan" more optimized for the other chips. I believe it was also in comments section of another video, so I didn't think much until I read similar from you.

the problem is the emulator itself, even you have snap gen 3 you can't get full speed for all games since the developer abandoned this emulator a year..

Mali gpu isn't that good for Emulation, there are games weaker Snapdragon soc can play like sly cooper but powerfull Mediatek cant play them.

For comparison, the 870 SOC plays Dirge Of Cerebris smooth at 2X. The 870 is the closest to this chipset. Also, for games that play really slow, try disabling Hardware Download Mode. Some games do not use that asset, but get bogged down with it on. The setting is in graphics options. I have a Legion Y700 8" tablet that has the 870. Amazing chip that has great thermal properties in regards to minimal throttling. Added: Actually, all the games shown here play smooth at 1.5X on the 870. Most 2X. Same for your other videos.

I'd honestly rather see PSP over PS Vita as the Vita titles probably aren't as many. Or just add Vita titles to the end of a PSP video. Edit: For PSP I'd hope to see GTA Liberty/Vice City Stories, Star Wars Rogue/Renegade Squadron, Mortal Kombat: Unchained, Killzone: Liberation, Resistance: Retribution, MGS: Peace Walker, LittleBigPlanet.

Don't get me wrong, it really does a wonderful job, but it's certainly not perfect. Also ps2 absolutely drains the battery. Like 2-3 hours MAX. So keep that in mind.

One thing that worries me about the Retroid Pocket 4 is running out of storage space once I add PS2 and GameCube games. That I legally own. Those "backups" take up storage space really fast.

I know sometimes there are differences in cross platform games that would make one version more desirable than another but if all things equal? Could be another video idea: comparing emualtion performance of cross platform titles?
