I went with the rp4 pro. The better screen doesn't make much difference to me and after adding the grip to the rp4 pro the comfort isn't an issue so I went with the added performance.

I ordered the 556 .. after watching a bunch of vids ..it’s all about the comfort of the hand grips and beautiful screen . Performance is only a spec difference between the two.

The Retroid looks like a banger too but same as you after nerding out on a ton of content I went with the 556. So glad I did. I just want my handheld to play retro games and GooglePlay games, that's it. Just couldn't ignore the insane price to performance ratio, the bigger, brighter better 1080p OLED screen, and its incredible form factor. To me it's the perfect size too. Not too big, not too small, just right. The ergonomics and comfort level are out of this world great. And I've had zero issues running PS2 games, they look fantastic and play perfectly. I can't love this thing enough.

Performance, and the D-pad are the differences. Anbernic D-pad is prone to false diagonals, depending on what you are playing. 🍻

@@tonyrosario1940 I was so happy with its PS2 emulation I took a chance and picked up that 480 game PS2 SD card from AliExpress. I figured if I only really liked 20 games it was worth it. But it's actually a really good, well rounded library of some great games and they run awesome. And the games are all auto control mapped without having to do a thing. I kept the factory installed front end library the RG556 shipped with, so between that, my GooglePlay downloads and the 480 game PS2 card permanently in the SD port, this thing is just packed and stacked with so much great stuff. Playing incredible PS2 games like Medal Of Honor; Frontline and Contra; Shattered Soldier on a hand held like this is an absolute dream come true. And I can't get over how the games look so good you'd swear they were remastered.

I Got the 556. 5.5” 1080p AMOLED display over an outdated iPhone6 4.7” LCD 750p screen any day. Yes the RP4 has a bit better performance tone able to play at slightly higher resolution is cool but what’s higher resolution matter when the screen maxes at 750p? I’m able to get most PS2 games playing 1.5x and 2x with some clocking tweaks. Almost everything should run 1x native in general. Playing all your classic games on a 1080p OLED though is he big winner here. Your old games will look absolutely gorgeous and PSP at full 4x 1080p resolution makes many of the games look better than many PS2 games.

Same here, same choice. The 556's unbeatable price to power ratio, much better form and comfort factor and much bigger and better resolution screen were my ultimate deciding factors. I've had no trouble whatsoever running PS2 games on the 556. They look and run and play great! And here's the thing too. Anbernic can easily release a firmware update to make the 556 run PS2 games even better than it already does, but there's nothing Retroid can do to update the inferior screen size and resolution. And you shouldn't have to buy left and right grip extensions to make it feel more comfortable in hand on top of the $50 more you already paid choosing the Retroid over the 556.

I think you made the right choice. The screen on the retroid pocket 4 is usable.... but it's just small enough to be annoying imo. This especially comes into play with streaming and UI scaling.

Playing PS2 is a game changer for me. RP4 pro is my choice. Probably the best value way to emulate ps2, unless you've already got a pc

Both consoles are quite large and will most likely be used at home. Most likely quite a long time, not 15 minutes. Your hands get tired from playing for a long time. You didn’t say anything about ergonomics, but in this sense the RG556 is much more convenient. Therefore, my choice is in favor of ease of use, i.e. in favor of Anbernic.

which has better thumbsticks? I don't like the switch thumbsticks anbernic tends to use (like on the 405m or 35xxh) Heard good things about the sticks on the RP2S though.

i think the anbernic ones are still the same. i hate them on my 405m. you cannot use them for any shooter. the rp4pro ones seem to be much better

nice video the clear blue anbernic wins but the black gets a close second retro pocket needs a bigger screen or oled or something special going for it to beat the anbernics many special thigns going for it simply having a little bit more performance dosnt make it appealing unless u dont own a sweter jacket or hoody then u cant carry the 556 with ur and there for u dont have a option ur pants made the choise for u and the rp4 is the only device that fits in ur pocket unless u got a hoody then the 556 is amazing

💯 лайк! Подскажите пожалуйста, насколько она стоит своих денег? Не будет ли она через год виснуть, не хрупкая, не сломается ли при первом же падении? Думаю какую бы взять консоль, чтобы брать ее с собой в командировки, где иногда бывает нет интернета и нет электричества и играть в игры от сеги, первой и второй сони плейстейшин, PSP и вроде бы на нинтендо свитч видел такие мощные игры, как Resident Evil Revelations и Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered Это моя первая консоль, через две недели планирую покупку на али. Кстати на сколько брать флешку, на 256 или 512? Заранее Огромное спасибо и всем удачи!)

С тем учетом, что RG556 стоит дешевле RP 4 PRO всего на 2 тысячи (17к против 19к), лучше взять RP4pro. Они одинаковые во всех играх до пс2. в пс2 выигрывает RP4pro. Но если тебя интересует экран, овер производительности, то RG556. Флешку на 512гб лучше, чтобы больше игр. Либо 2 флешки по 256, чтобы разделять игры по вкусу. а для защиты от падения и удобства, ты можешь заказать Защитный чехол игрового контроллера, стоит около тысячи. Я себе заказал RP4pro

I have encountered no issue with performance on newer systems with the RG556. It has got a larger screen and a better display but as mentioned, the Rp4 has more power. It's down to personal preference but whatever you choose, you'll be impressed. If you have the extra money to buy a 512, get one. More games = more fun! 👍

Retroarch emulador have this option. I play with my son in 2 devices (rg35xxh and rg35xx+). I don't know if works on all games but I've played mk3 and run smoth

I wish my Rg556 looked cosmetically as good as the Rp4. The screen and ergonomics just tip the scales in the 556 favour in my opinion. Both lovely handhelds with their own merit. Great video 👍
