Margaret is in a tizzy of preparations because her parents are coming to visit. But after all this, her parents behave just as they always do - Maureen and Tony fawn over Bob, but treat Margaret as if she doesn’t exist. On top of this, they refuse to allow Bob and Margaret to “go to any trouble” for them. On a day trip into London, Margaret is increasingly frustrated with her parents, and begins to behave outrageously in an attempt to get them to acknowledge her. At the end of the day, Margaret loses her temper with them - but finds that some things will never change.
