The downside: we spent all of our allowance/earnings on albums (that only had at most 3 good songs on them) and mags like haircut mags to show our stylist or Smash Hits to cut out Duran Duran photos. Nowadays teens don't buy albums (other than Taylor Swift. They can download any photo of their favorite singers/actors from Google or social media. The guy you have a crush on, he probably had an IG/TikTok account where you can watch VIDEOS of him or download photos from his accounts, rather than pretend you are going to take a photo of your BFF just as he "happens" to be in the background, and then immediately run to have the roll of film developed at Target or Fotomat. 😂😂😂😂

Excellent! No generation beats the Teenage movement of the 1980's and their roll in movies. I am fortunate to have been a teenager during that time

Career Opportunities is 90s but a classic!! When it comes to 80's music I consider early 90s a part of it. So many bands made great music up till '92 and occasionally '93 I always consider Leprechaun and River's Edge 80's even though they are 90s.

There's people that lived through it that didn't understand it because, they were only 10 when it ended xDD The 80's was more than just the shows, advertisements, cartoons, music and movies. The fact that this stuff is all I see from people that mention growing up in the 80's tells me they were only kids. The adults also talk about the Eruption of Mt. M. Saint Helens, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the death of John Lennon, all the crappy movies and bands that dwarf the good ones and that it was not cool to be a nerd and it still isn't. Crimes, drugs and that the hot girls haven't changed at all in the personality department. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Most people only talk about only maybe 1% of the 80's because, that's about all that got digitized. Too much lost media from the 80's that are gone forever. Radio stations burned music that the public didn't like that they'd call the radio station about. Too much (good and bad) happened then but, more bad. The Last American Virgin (1982) is likely the greatest depiction of youth in the 1980's. Not too thrilling to be honest. Aside from today's drug addiction crisis (worse way worse than the 80's) crappy job market, president, overly political correctness and economy I'd say today is better because, at least there's tech closer to sci-fi than back then, way better medicine that only people back then could dream of having access to and I'm not dodging bullets anymore.

What I loved about the 80's was that it felt like everybody knew each other. And if you didn't, there was a willingness to get to know you.

This is what we had back then for us, 40s (was born in '79). Such a great time to live, I wish I could go back for more. Feel like I haven't had that full experience of that best era ever, it was so good, it went too fast. 😁

I'm an inch away from 40, and let me tell you...anyone who's 40 that tells you they remember everything about the 80s is full of shit, we were all ten by the end of it. People in their mid 30's to mid 40's were far more kids of the 90's than the 80's. HOWEVER...there was loads of 80's legacy stuff in the 90's and we grew up on shit like Die Hard, Goonies, etc...so there's a lot of fondness there.

like hypercatjohn said,,, those born in the late 70s wont remember anything. I was born in 64. I was 15 in 1980. I partied through the 80s.. and got married in 1989 at age 25. We remember.. and it was Honestly, the Best decade ever. People didnt get offended, our nation had American pride, we had the best in everything.. technology was Taking off. The berlin wall came crashing down.. Communism lost.. We won the gold against the UNBEATABLE russians.. it goes on and on and on and on.. We made it happen. ... I feel bad for those who didn't live those Amazing years. I will take it with me when I die.

Such a great start in A Year in the Life. I just wish she could've moved abroad and gotten out of the business like Molly Ringwald before it devoured her like so many others.

When I watch these movies I remember that dressing in the 80s was perhaps the best, one always tried to look clean and orderly regardless of brands or influencers, and there were a lot of clothes experimenting in youthful aspects, changing structures and shapes, something healthy

My childhood was the 00’s and I grew up watching a lot of 80’s 90’s rerun shows and movies. Some of my favorite shows and movies at that time were from the 80’s. I tell people I loved a decade I’ve never been in for 2 decades❤

OMG Can't by me love, License to Drive, Weird Science... this weekend is going go be a legit movie binge. Mannequin is so classic too but no clips of that movie in this video. I was like three or four when alot of these came out but they would play like every week on the "movie channels" lol if you're my age you get it. My brother and sister are 5 years older so by the time I was like 10 I watched these 100 times. There is nothing like the 80's

I was born in 1989 and as a kid I always envy the teenagers in our school because oh they are so beautiful and looks like they were having the best time of their lives. I'm in my 30's now and still wish I was born in the 70's to be a teenager in the 80's 😅.

Man, Molly Ringwald...SO beautiful and such a talented actress to boot...many people in any capacity in the Entertainment Industry (and in a lot of other places too) stay around FAR past their welcomes...but not her...she hasn't made any films in years and she TRULY went out on top!!! Go Molly and other iconic 80's entertainers!!! The decade that other Millennials and I grew up in never goes out of style!!! ;) :) ;)

Look at all the SMILES. The world was such a happier place in the 80's. Hope, joy, big dreams, friendships, believing in yourself - these were themes throughout 80's movies. No wonder we miss it so much

@coreym1628 ай бұрын
Hahaha! You think it was different then? You'd have to go back to the 60's for that. It hasn't changed. Listen to Prince's Does Not Compute (Something In The Water) on his 1982 - 1999 Album. You will see nothing has changed much. They knew men and boys were thirsty back then so they gave them hopium in far more films back then because, men spent more on films and cars to woo the girls back then. That's why the films were better back then. To hold men's attention.
