I was in school and I had no clue what the answer was so I remembered this episode. So I said in front of a whole crowd. "I like ice cream" I didn't get in detention or anything he just told me to sit back down. This episode saved my life!!

I still say it was an extremely missed opportunity _not_ to make Season 2 a live-action version of the "A Cartoon!" segments of Season 1 with A Cartoon! versions of the live-action episodes from the same season. The clever part is that they don't break the loop. If you go back to the beginning of the cartoon parts, you'll see that it starts with them being thrown into outer space by space monster M which suggests that the cartoon is looping over and over again with the normal show

Hmm, I'm not certain that reference was on purpose, though it totally could be. In the other uses, he says multiple stanzas from each song, where in the monkeys gone to heaven, it's the single line. Also, I thought he said 'this monkey's going to heaven,' a minor difference I know, but it would differentiate from the Pixies song that way as well. Food for thought anyway :)
