Andrey barely played last season and his target this season was simply minutes, which is exactly what is happening right now. I’m a fan but I think it would be more beneficial for him to continue to captain the team, gain max mins and win all the awards he will inevitably win. He can then come into pre-season with a full season in the tank ready to go, he would get half the mins he would’ve at Strasbourg if he came in Jan and that would be a shame for his own progress

It's funny. The Club literally said before the window, not to expect incomings. That we would.mainly see outgoings. Yet fans decided to ignore that and are now crying about it. There is no elite level striker available in January. Which is the main thing we need. The club has again already said they will be trying to sign a striker in the summer. Mathis Amougou is a very good young talent who is only here to cover and learn from the main team for 3 months. Then he will go to Strasbourg and Santos will come into the first team. It's good for Chelsea and Strasbourg. We have a multi club model now and we can't neglect Strasbourg and take the piss.

Maresca wanted Calafiori as his dream signing for LB/CB dual role. He was deemed too expensive in the summer, so we ended up signing Renato Veiga as the directors thought he was a similar profile (also because he replaced him at FC Basel) But Maresca clrarly didn't rate/like what he saw from Veiga to truat him enough with Premier League significant minutes So it's the fault of both directors and the manager not rating him at all, which can happen.

Veiga, Casadei, Chukwuemeka, Guiu, Dewsbury-Hall are victims of the tripling and quadrupling of players at each position with insufficient differences between them. Lots of stockpiling with little real chance to play. Gambling that offers or trade will come. How much rest or rotation for: Colwill, Cucurella, Caicedo, Fernández, Jackson, Sánchez? How much first team minutes either starting or substitutions for: Jorgensen, Veiga, Acheampong, George, Dewsbury-Hall, Nkunku, Guiu? How do you develop, stay focused and motivated if not out on the field? Compound that with more youth acquisitions! Two glaring areas not addressed in several windows - goalkeeper and striker. It’s self sabotage as this point. It’s like the ownership and sporting directors want us to fail this season. Fucking mental. Maybe we didn’t need to spend big. Bringing back one of santos or lesly and maybe trying to engineer a loan move for a striker would have been fine. They could then just focus on outgoings which they have done, and done well except for Felix which didn’t make much sense. Guess he really wanted out as well. I still don’t see a clear direction on what we want to be. Are we trying to be a selling club or are we trying to slowly establish ourselves as a top club again.. where the fuck are we headed?! Everybody complaining. A top striker wasn’t really available this window there was no real links with any club to top top strikers. We are currently back in the top 4, why are you all complaining? I do find it a little odd we loaned felix and kept nkunku but clearly there was a reason, other clubs didn’t have money for nkunku so loan felix recall him when nkunku goes in summer. New midfielder is santos replacement at Strasbourg in the summer. We have trimmed the squad again which I think helps becasue even with conference league and cup games some players didn’t get game time now everybody will get to play and hopefully be more of a tight unit. I am a little sad we didn’t get a striker of course but I’d rather wait nnget the right one n not rush, Datro fofana is back at the club I believe again so there is him ad guiu I guess as backup. It was a poor window but we’ve spent soo much for a couple years now it was going to chill out a bit eventually

Datro Fofana is injured. We haven’t trimmed the squad because all those players will be back in the summer after their loans. I said if there’s no top strikers you get a stop gap so that’s not an excuse. These are things we need for the rest of the season. Just because we’re in the top 4 now doesn’t mean anything as the season isn’t finished.

We have had some bad form fair enough but all teams do. That tiny spell of bad form is nothing compared to last season or the season before. We’re back in top 4 for now and as you said the season isn’t over. I think Carney is getting a bit of English bias. He’s a good player, but I don’t think he really moves the needle for us. Given the lack of midfield options, I would’ve kept him, but the manager doesn’t rate him even to play Conference league.
