Return of Tri-Rail 501 with LOUD K5LA and more at Miami Airport Station!

After hearing about and seeing 501 leading P636, I knew I wanted to see it lead on P647. While at the station, I caught Tri-Rails P645 and P648, and between those two trains P647 with 822 and 501 arrived. While P648 was departing, a British Airways A380 went right over it. As soon as P648 departed, empty stock move P647 got the tracks to Hialeah Yard where it would be stored for the night. As it was about to leave, 822 had some brake issues and the crew had to walk to the engine and fix the issue (temporarily). After those two minutes, P647 with 501 leading finally departed the station, and you can hear it's incredibly loud K5LA for the crossing as it departs. It easily has the loudest horn on Tri-Rail, likely even louder than 507. It's great that 501 is back after more than six years out of service!

3:07 Roten 514 sounds like it has been retrofitted with a NEWER sounding E-BELL!! Sounds like an ALC-42 E-BELL.

501 sounds funky. It’s loud, but kinda sounds like it has RL bells on the roof. After it passes the camera it sounds pretty cool

That just comes to show you how powerful 501 is. It was powerful enough to shake a Tripod, and silence everything around it for well over a second. Even the almighty 507 isn't capable of quite that... You'd think 501 had a K5LLA, but yet it doesn't.

They did run 5-car sets in 2020, but they were very long and couldn't fit most of the stations' platforms.

501 has its strobe pole light on the horns which was removed from uctd cabcar a long time ago which makes 501 so unique

Did they fit 501 with a solenoid valve, or does it still use a pull cord? I feel like it sounds better.

They removed the pull cord from all of them when they fitted them with PTC.

The pull cord was removed during it's time in storage, in fact probably very recently

I just downloaded it and all works fine except for the interior bell, which won’t sound at all. Checked the proxyxml and the filename seems to be correct, do you know how to fix it?

You should use your 501 video for the interior sound. In fact, I can send the wav files if you want.
