I'm fourteen and absolutely love RTF. i just got into them this year, as i started getting into Stanley Clarke. I play bass in a band and our main goal is to be like the second return to forever, and we're probably not the only kids digging this amazing music. I don't think people should give up on modern music just yet.

Romantic Warrior from 1976 is the best fusion album of all time in my opinion. Return To Forever was a superb band led by the late great Chick Corea who passed away this week, Feb at 79. RIP Chick Corea.

Certainly one of the best. For me, the best Jazz Rock Fusion album is Billy Cobham’s “Spectrum.” I say that, because the core group on that album is pure Fusion. It’s two jazz musicians, teamed up with two rock musicians. It’s all opinion, and taste. However, in the history of Fusion, IMO, there has never been a better composer than Chick Corea.

This is one of the best jazz bands of all time. I recently saw them play live in Los Angeles. What sheer magic it was. There is no-one else quite like them. Virtuoso musicianship combined with brilliant music composition. What more can anyone ask for.

Brings me back to my high school days. Everyone was listening to Journey and VanHalen and for some reason, I got into this. Still blows my mind listening to Al D's crazy fast runs here. Mind blowing even today. I remember him saying of this time that his goal was to be the fastest guitarist in music. Seems like it.

WoW! I have to tell you all something. I have been playing guitar for over twenty years now. Mostly Rock, Blues,Some Chicken fried Country/Boogie (at least that is what I call it:) and metal in my youth. I never really appreciated jazz/fusion until the last 2-3 years or so. I have heard Al Di Meola's name (and read it in mags) countless times. I am ashamed to say that I have only been aware of his playing for about 6 months now. Mostly via You Tube ViDs. All I can say is WoW! I am a fan now!

Young Al Dimeola on guitar. I was there to see them and saw them just recently both days of the NY leg of their tour. It was like being transported back in time. I still remembered every note and riff. Crazy to see all these old folks (me too) that were there to take a great trip down memory lane. Loved it.... They still brought down the house years later....

I was absolutely LUCKY to see RTF on every tour from the Hymn of the Seventh, Where have I known you before, No Mystery, Romantic Warrior and Music Magic. They changed the way I hear music. I've been to well over 1000 concerts in my lifetime and RTF hands down were the best of them all.

This whole band is on fire. Where did music like this go? It doesn't seem like anyone can play it anymore, or if they can--they don't. Hiromi may be an exception, but even Al isn't making stuff this lively and energetic anymore.

just saw them in Montreal tonight... totally brilliant. First time i saw Stanley Clarke, what a brilliant and fierce bass player. Chick was totally amazing and so the others. They came back at the end and played "Duel of the Jester & the Tyrant" ... it blew me away!! unbelivable

I bought this album and I have to say it's absolutely incredible, and stunning to think that they were doing this sort of music light years before todays progressive heavyweights! It's musically so compelling as well, Chick Corea is a genius.

I enjoyed reading the comments of this video, especially by some of the folk 7, 8 and 9 months ago who were lucky enough to seen the band perform the songs live. If you want a good background on the group, and this last album , check out the wikipedia articles on each. I love the album. The "exactness" of every note of every song, the composition, timing, finesee on the album is amazing. This live performance gives you a glimpse of the brilliance, but doesnt give the album justice.

I saw them in NYC and I must say they are better now than they were in the 70's. I.M.O. BTW even though Lenny is having shoulder problems, his playing is even more sophisticated now. The guys have all raised the bar. this music needs to live. RTF must stay together and perform this music, it's to important to let it die for another 33 years, hell they'll be 90 plus years in 33 years. i don't think any of us can wait that long again lol.
