Intensity is good, but consistency is king. Welcome back to the violin and please stick with it. Your return to playing will inspire the rest of us. (As an aside, my great great grandmother wants her velvet pajamas back.)

LOL love the last sentence! haha -- I have still been playing; even just played fiddle in a live theatre show for a 4-week run! More exciting improvements ahead, so feel free to subscribe if you'd like to stay privy to my journey!

I definitely recommend trying to pick it back up! I've been playing for a quite a while now, probably about a year and a half or so it'll take a minute to get back used to it as you probably know🤣

Ive been playing for 6 years and I had to take a break during COVID I started again last year. And I would definitely recommend picking it back up. It’s a great skill to have.

I had a few false starts with the violin. Picked it up played it for a few months, put it down. Repeated that for about 3 years until late 2019 when I finally got into it into it. Every few months I learned something new and get a little bit better

U remind me of myself. I am doing graduate study while learning violin on my own. Sometimes i leave it for months. But the thing is, by somehow, I find myself doing well actually might better than last time i played. Not to mention neighbors complains, so I have to get somewhere empty outdoors to play 🤦🏻

I’ve also been playing for a year and a half. Except it’s for school. Currently In philharmonic orchestra and trust me you’re not alone for messing up.

Maybe we should not compare, But just for knowledge sake. ---- Remember we are not comparing "Cello" and "Guitar". ----- Guitar vs Violin: Which one do you think is more powerful?

Life happens. But regardless if you wanted to document progress and have it do well analytically on your socials... you should keep with it. It's a lovely skill. I enjoyed watching your progression despite me never commenting it. Hope you fall in love with it again

Hi! I so appreciate your comment :) As an actor and voiceover artist I’m always juggling quite a lot of things: some that pay the bills, some that are pure passion projects, and some that cost money. So as I plan ahead, singing + violin progress are on my list, and I’d like to make them higher priorities. I know that you and others really enjoy seeing the progress - particularly violin - so I have not forgotten about you or your support!! ❤️ thank you for pushing me to keep going.

honestly, to try and just get back into it it’s okay if you even just practice for 10 minutes a day. if you keep that consistent and slowly build up the amount of time you put in i think it’ll really pay off for you!

Do you have any videos of what kind of player you were after a year of consistent playing and practicing?
@CourtneyLucien Жыл бұрын
I do! I will be making a video within the next couple of weeks showing the progress of a year of 🎻 playing. I’m just now turning my sights back onto this channel and more progress videos, so I appreciate you asking! :)

You are honest, I like that. And you show ist that the violin ist harder to play than other instruments. On the piano you can play easy pieces that sound good pretty fast. Piano gets harder when you want to play advanced stuff. BTW, the irish tunes are not easy to play, because the notes are easy. Producing an irish sound with ornamentations is even for advanced players a challenge. And they are fast, drowsy Maggie in the original reel tempo is hardly playable for beginners.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing a comment! :) And yes, Irish tunes are difficult, especially with the ornamentations - you're right! Very fun to play and learn all the same!
