we were stationed there in 1982 when the 1st battalion the black watch were there. my husband was royal signals 590 rear link detachment.loved it,it was home.

Dad was stationed in Werl...we lived there from 1963 to 1966, all the way from Chilliwack, BC, Canada. This is so sad, makes me want to cry. Dad would be heart broken, sadly he died in 1985. Thanks for sharing this.

I was stationed at Fort St.Louie from 1962 until 1964. I was , 17 years old when I went there,. I was transferred back toCanada in 1964. I served with the Canadian Black Watch.

We lived in Soest from 69 to 71. My dad was attached to Brigade Headquarters at Fort Henry. I was fortunate to have been able to visit Fort Anne and also Fort Victoria but never made it into Fort St Louis.

I was there 1972-74 fond memories also I got loads of photos,I was always getting bollocked for getting my camera out in N.I.Creggan,Saltau,Sennelager,Canada,I was in B coy then moved to the battalion signal plt.Wish I could find my old mates Paul Wilde and Lenny Meade no good with the records office,some names I do remember,,,,Jesse James Sgt.Ted Heath,Eric Witcher,Dennis Cuts,Ted Bicker,and many others,also I still got the Battalion newspapers that were published whilst we were in Ireland I must get these photos into a collection and post em on line,well all the best me o'le muckers keep well and all the best.🍺🍻👍Cheers

Hi Robert, I think you may know my father WO2 A Ongley he served in Werl when you were there. I have been trying to find pictures of his time in the Queens to no avail. BTW he passed about 11 years ago
