There should be a cut scene at the beginning of the game which shows Selene approaching Atropos, receiving the White Shadow signal, and then crash landing on the planet after her craft is struck by lightning. It’s a really cool scene that sets the isolated, desolate mood for the game. Also, you can dash through lasers and projectile attacks 😀
