Returning to FFXI in 2024

Grats on starting FFXI. I still remember the good times I had playing this 20 or so years ago on Fairy. Finding your video makes me want to play again. Its different now, I think I have all classes at 99. Back in the day you could not solo. It was so much harder than modern games, solo was impossible. It was sooo hard. Doing the limit breaks was a huge thing. Beating Maat on any job is tough. You talking about my favorite game of all time makes me nostalgic too,

I restart FF11 2 months ago on Horizonxi server, I am a 75 era fan, I can't commit to retail game when I have wife and 4 kids now so to play in a free server that I can quit or pause whenever feels better to me And I can finally say I feel at home when I log into game FFXI may have lotta design problems and is updated but to me is my favorite game Bad thing is I play from 10pm to 2am and it is literally killing me, I am not a kid anymore T T I have fond memories from retail game from 20 years ago, epic fights and no modern game could give me those feelings back; 2 weeks on Horizonxi and I have another great memory in a party in dunes!! when got 2 flies linked besides our crab and we all party had to use "carefully" our 2h, no one died and even I ended with 10hp I felt so proud again (I was blm 14 btw) wife says I had that smile in my face a whole week XD, I decided this game deserves my attention again. Ps. I envy your monitor =P

1st seen FFXI in 2002 Gamepro..too young for PS2 and online games 🎮 1st played FFXI in 2012 on XBOX 360... too noob to understand the game 1st time watching your channel in 2024... able to grasp the appreciation of this ancient gem. 😅😌😎

I recently started a return to ffxi series on my channel too. Its been a lot of fun revisiting content that used to be super hard and csn now be done solo. It's basically a single player FF game up until endgame. It's great seeing what changes are made in comparison to 75 era. It's kinda sad It's a totally different game now but, modern audiences modern rules. Great vid 👍 gave you a sub

Wow man, I’m a couple months from 43 as well and I really relate to everything you said about this game. I jumped back on last year for awhile after a 14 yr break and it was an unreal feeling just being in E Saruta and hearing the music. The push for endgame is the big thing now but I resisted and finished getting to 75 the old-fashioned way. Endgame is also really cool once I pulled the trigger on it but it completely makes all pre-75 content irrelevant sadly. I’ll probably jump back on this year again. Good luck!

Xi holds a special place for me too. I played it since release in UK but I never quite got on with the later changes after 99 cap was introduced but regardless the game is the reason I have some of my best and longest serving friendships to this day. We have been on an off with Xi a few times over the years and it's one of the only games that holds dear memories to me and why i still remember so much about the game now, even when not actively playing. Been a Shiva server player since i started forever ago but i do keep hearing about Asura

Great video!! I took a long back and I've been thinking about returning to finish my final expansion ( wings of the goddess ) i cant stress how amazing the stories and fights were in the other expansions and even tho I put pressure on myself to find a job to main.. this time I return im just gonna enjoy the journey again and maybe finally work on my paladin shields.. aegis and ochain. Btw did you find a good linkshell and are you still active?

Who lied and told you it's 2000hrs😂. To truly "finish" ffxi. You need to have done All missions All quests Master level 50 All jobs Obtain every relic, mythic, empyrian, aeonic, ergon & prime weapons/shields/instruments. All af/relic/empyrian armor to +3 Augment every piece of gear to max. It's possible to finish, but literally no one has. Probably would take a decade of continuous play

totally in my early days just to get the EBISU took me 1+year and thats a fishing rod :) .. FFXI takes decades to finish and thats no lie

after ffxiv had the throw back ffxi raid i reactivated my account. hadnt played since 2013 and before that it was 2003/04. leveling is so easy now lol

@MANIACxCOP22 word of advice limit break 99 is hardest.. hundred fist last minute to beat taru..make sure you unlock Asuran fists.. Im also a Mnk during limitbreak quests

@networknomad5600 I'm level 88 rn on my first toon. It's not the same as it used to be. I mean, the game was so adventurous with other real players in your party. I've started the Chains of Promathias missions. Will see how it goes. It's a chill game to play while your watching something on the second screen. With all the new games out there and coming out, I feel like I'm missing them. Perhaps a break is needed for me soon.
