Returning to the Isola D’Ischia | An Italian Summer On My Home Island🍝🛵🇮🇹

I am so beyond excited to release my debut travelogue on KZbin; 14 days returning to my Italian families home island: the Isola D’Ischia.
8 years since my last visit, join me on my nostalgic rediscovery of the island.
From eating all the pasta and gelato possible, to reuniting with old family and friends, I am so proud of the little film my footage has become, and I’m delighted to share it with you. This is only the beginning of my film-making journey, so far with the small (but video-transforming) edition of my new drone… and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

how pretty!! this vlog is very well done, congratulations. my mum has been taking me to ischia since i was little, because her grandmother used to do the same with her. it is my heart island, truly wonderful, the sympathy and kindness of the people is one of my favorite things. i just got back from ischia and i feel extremely melancholy, watching this video made me feel better ahahhaha maybe next year we'll see you in ischia;))

Mirelle, well done. My father was born there in the small village of Campagnano. It's beauty and slower pace of life is very therapeutic. My wife Karen, and I, visited in 2021 staying in a small flat in Porto. The food was incredible flavour-wise and I ate some squid ink risotto (something I swore I'd never do) at a small restaurant in Ponte. My dad said when he was young the skeletal remains of the nuns at Castello Aragonese were thrown into a communal ossuary very close to where you looked over the top at the view of the Ponte and spiaggia pescatore. I agree, Sant Angelo and Forio are incredibly picturesque with the pastel coloured buildings and clear blue water. I highly recommend the spaghetti alla pommodoro at the small cafe half way up to Mt Epomeo and seeing the festa Di Santa Anna. Oh, I forgot. If you are catching the public bus service around Ischia and sitting on the back seats, bring a large, thick cushion with you ALWAYS! 🙂

Something to note: avoid coming here in the Summer months (May through October). It is so packed with English, Germans, and Americans. Come in April (but watch out for Easter). So actually, forget April. Come November through February. No, wait. Those months are cold and raining. You know what? Just forget it. Don't visit.

For families and couples it’s a great location! As for solo travelling, I don’t see why not. I’m sure there are a good amount of hostels in Ischia to choose from!
