Our male lived to 11 1/2, our first female lived to a few weeks before her 12th birthday, and our last female, Violet who is pictured next to my name died shortly after her 7th birthday. She was way too young! I’m so glad your Bulldog is living to a ripe old age! She must be getting excellent care and a lot of love!Maybe she and Reuben can set the record together!❤️❤️

Cheryl, I have had 3 also! Nigel passed 5 days before his 10th birthday from heart problems. Lucy was 12 when she passed. And now Carli. We rescued Lucy and Carli when they were 8 and 7. They keep changing the life expectancy for bulldogs. Used to be 10 years, now it's 8 to 10. I must be doing something right with her!

I’m so glad to hear that Reuben is doing so well! I have 2 Old English bulldogs that are 12 years old I know all about what it’s like to be considered a senior. Their lives have become very sedentary. However the love they give hasn’t changed no matter how old they get there so the best part of my life!

I looked up one day and my beautiful pupper was gray at the muzzle, a little slower on our walks and napping more often…I adjusted our life around his “sudden” aging, in other words, anything he wanted at any time was happily provided…..it happened much too quickly….we never think about it when we fall in love with these beautiful little people that someday they are going to be feeble…love them like crazy while they are here because they are the truest example of pure, unconditional love♥️🐾🙏

Mike when my dogs got older every 6 months or so I would get blood work on my dog to make sure her organs were working good. One dog , good thing I did get the test, her liver was starting to work not good. So caught that early she took meds. So keep up the good work with Reuben. ❤❤❤❤

Please watch out for any types of cancer. My bulldog, who was a identical replica of Roo, got to twelve and we noticed a small bump on the inside of his nose, it was actually skin cancer on the inside of his nose, but by the time we saw it , it had spread through out his nasal cavity and there was nothing we could do. Other than that and allergies, he was just like roo, sometimes active, most the time not, but loved to go, go, go. Thanks so much for sharing Roo with all of us.

My girl will be 8 in August so we understand the slowing down. We've been watching I want to say for 4 years. We have been blessed and I'm hoping that Ruben and my girl Sookie stay with us for a few more years, I only have my girl it's just the two of us and I can't imagine ever being without her. I love how feisty Reuben is. He's adorable! I can still see him as a pup rolling around in one of his hundreds of new beds having a lil temper tantrum. He's always been just soooooo very adorable! I miss my baby girl, MabelSue. She lived to be 12 yrs old but sadly had congestive heart failure at the end. She was a feisty lil angel. Much love to y'all. 🐾💕🐾
