Fresh from my oven - The Wedding of Kervin and Brinda…

Now this took a long time to bake.
.
You see a couple of weeks prior to his wedding in November last year, my couz Kervin asked me if I could film it with a drone for him and I immediately agreed… on the eve of his wedding however, while chatting at a gathering at his place, I told him that I would give the raw drone footage to his videographer so that they can include it in their wedding film… and much to my surprise, he told me that I would be the only videographer at the venue as he had only hired photographers and not videographers

It was late at night, and he was getting married the very next day…
.
I got home that night and charged every camera and drone batteries I had and decided I would try to do my best to give him a proper wedding film. I couldn’t hire an aid for that day either as everything was going to be my gift to him, so I went in with tripods.

Imagine juggling with two drones and 3 cameras - two on tripods and one handheld. so I had some cameras fixed and running, while I was operating the drone, I had to run around and move the cameras and fiddle with the settings every now and then. My main camera even went face down once because there was quite a lot of wind and a very kind guy caught it the second time it was blown away - fortunately there was no damage. There really was quite a bit of wind that day. The organizers even lost a flat TV that day (you can see it down on the ground for the opening shot) it was hectic. I finally resolved myself to hold the camera in hand for the rest of the event and lay it at my feet to operate the drone. In the end I had to make do with whatever I had managed to gather. Furthermore, I had to leave early and didn’t stay for his reception as it was a Friday and Sabbath was starting at Sunset but I got enough footage of the actual wedding ceremony.

And since the cameras were running during much of the wedding, it means I had loads of footage to review. I did tell my couz that I was very busy and couldn’t tend to his film right away and that he would have to chase me until such a time as I am available to do his thing.

And it turns out, I was actually very very busy over the past 5 months. lots of fights to take care of, draining much of my time, lots of unforeseen circumstances but last week I came up with a sharp pain in the back. I think the way I lifted my cat when he was at an arms length caused a strain in some muscle in my back and I could hardly lift my right hand without excruciating pain in the left shoulder cap for about 3 days… I am getting as much bed rest as I can at the moment…
.
So I had to pause every physical activity, and even typing on my laptop for a while… I tried however to edit on my tablet and that seemed to work… my seating arrangement for working on my tablet was more comfy… so I loaded up all the videos from November 24th and got to work… Friday during the day and Saturday after Sabbath from 19h until 09h this morning - and was happy with the result…
.
Unfortunately, for some reason KZbin blocked the video because of the Wedding March I had used which was performed by an orchestra and was copyrighted… which surprised me because Mendelssohn, the author died more than a 150 years ago and usually copyright expires 50 years after the author’s death… but anyway… I was too tired to do anything about it… I was waiting for the thing to upload and was getting excited to send the video to my couz, he didn’t know I was working on it… he had pinged me in January and in March and I apologized for being overwhelmed at both moments as I bid him to wait a bit more… and he was quite understanding… So I was very eager to send him the thing as a surprise… I filed a dispute to KZbin for fair use and youtube told me it would take 48 hours to be unblocked… so I went to sleep…
.
This afternoon however as I woke up, during the intense thunderstorm, I didn’t want to turn my laptop and screen on for long … so I was like… lemme turn everything off and go back to my ipad again - that gave me an opportunity to rework the video file and change the sound track to something uncopyrighted… Took me a few hours of work and I was finally able to send the link to my cousin… as youTube didn’t fuss with the new track…
.
The only regret is I couldn’t get to the see faces of my couz and his wife as they watched the video… that would have been gratifying … anyway… I guess I’ll content myself with sharing my work on my profile and reading your comments instead ;-)
