16:50 I know we're not used to well-depicted timelines in series, but in Arcane, time is handled pretty well. No, he didn’t know-Caitlyn didn’t go all the way back for his signature; she forged it. Plus, technically, she wasn’t an enforcer at that time because she got fired after her parents talked to Marcus following the terrorist attack where she almost died. She went completely rogue after that.

Yup, that little guy in "skid-row" who first helps Cait then informs to Silco in exchange for a bit of shimmer is the same guy who Vander defended in his dealings at the bar when he was getting screwed over on payment. His name is "Huck". When Vander died there was nobody around to defend Huck anymore, so he started using shimmer to become bigger, stronger, and scarier. Unfortunately, shimmer is massively addictive and long term abuse also results in physical deformities. Just a drop of shimmer mixed with other medicines heals Vi. Many substances that are medicinally effective are also harmful when abused in real life... that's why we can only get them through a doctors prescription.

The series is just so great with feelings of, "last episode was rough. Hopefully this one is a bit lighter." "Nope this one hurt too. Hopefully the next one is a bit lighter." Repeat as necessary. And amazing all the way through.

My read on Marcus is that he is constantly torn between guilt and fear. He feels guilty for getting Vander killed so he saves Vi's life, but he's afraid of the consequences if he lets her just walk away so he puts her in prison. He feels guilty for getting Grayson killed, so he tries to make a similar arrangement to the one she had with Vander, but he's afraid of Silco so he ends up just getting used and pushed around, etc He's very interesting and layered and well written, but I still don't like him lol

I think a little context when Jinx lit the flare, she wasn't really expecting Vi to show up. Sevika told Jinx that Vi was in town, working with an enforcer, looking for the Hexgemstone. Of course Jinx doesn't believe Sevika. Silco, her adopted father, had convinced Jinx that Vi was dead. On top of the that, even if she were alive, Jinx would never believe that Vi was working with an enforcer. The last time they saw each other, Vi hated the enforcers for killing their parents. A part of Jinx truly wanted to see her sister again but she primarily lit the flare to confront her pain and fear that have been haunting her for so long and prove to herself that Vi really was gone and that she was foolish thinking anything otherwise. She did not expect to hear Vi's voice again until....

I like this take, the dynamic between Vi and now "Jinx" is tragic, but very interesting

I think she was hoping for Vi to turn up and confirm that she wasn't working with an enforcer. This is supported, I think, by the fact that Jinx waited for the flare to go completely out before throwing it away, hoping against hope that Vi would turn up, as she promised - and despite being prepared for it not happening, she was genuinely angry when she thought Vi wasn't coming. She was willing to believe - tenuously, perhaps - that Vi was back, but she absolutely refused to consider that Vi would ever work with an enforcer, until she saw it herself. Besides, "Chuck" did confirm that "someone" got in a fight with Sevika, so she'd have reason to believe the Vi part was true, even if she didn't believe everything else Sevika said.

Comparing Jinx to Harley Quinn is an insult to Jinx, to be honest.
@charlestonjew75873 ай бұрын
To be fair, Jinx, the game character, was inspired by Harley Quinn but what Arcane did with the character turned Harley Quinn into a generic stereotype by comparison, a caricature.
@LadyDoomsingerАй бұрын
Kind of an insult to both characters, really - they are both unique and interesting, and reducing either of them to "wacky crazy girl" doesn't do either of them justice. The main problem with Harley Quinn is that there are many different adaptations of her, written by many different people with different takes on her character - but the most popular ones seem to be the generic "Wacky crazy girl" stereotype, and so that's what people think of when they hear Harley Quinn.
