The kingdom of Israel was a Hebrew kingdom that might have existed around 1047 BCE. Ruled by the famous king David who slayed Goliath and king Solomon who built the first temple in Jerusalem.
Today we find ourselves in Judah, a client state of the Antigonids. Surrounded and landlocked, we try to triumph over our enemies, reunite the kingdom of Israel and bring back king David's descendants to rule.

slight correction The UNIFIED kingdom of Israel is debated to exist. Historical records from the Egyptians, Assyrians, and Babylonians confirm that the 2 kingdoms of Israel and Judah did exist historically, and archaeology backs that up too. There's references to the House of David ruling Judah as a historic dynasty too.

I understood that the *unified* kingdom of Israel is debated to exist. When I said "the kingdom of Israel *or* the united monarchy" I was referring to the unified kingdom of Israel. I think it was just a slight misunderstanding.

Simon II Zadokite and Onias III Zadokite, your first two rulers, were the Jewish High Priests at this time of history. When you won the first war against the Ptolomaic Kingdom, you basically "became independent" and restored the Jewish Kingdom under a descendant of David. That is awesome, and what surely would happen in real life had this ocurred.

The Romans named it Palestine in 135 AD. Before that it was called Judea, Samaria, and Galilee, and Judah and Israel before that, and Canaan before even that. The Arab settlers you call Palestinians didn't colonize the land until the 7th century at the earliest. The Qur'an may permit you to speak a lie, but it cannot compel me to swallow it :P
