The metal rod is replaceable. If it breaks when taking it out, it can be replaced. Bags of 100 pieces are available for about 5$ to replace the broken ones.

I've just bought some also, thanks for the review, picked up some great points there, I will take into consideration the depth of the tile adhesive as if it's too thin the spacer simply won't fit

Great review...I was considering to buy these but your review pointed out issues I had not taken into consideration...so thank you....I think I will stick with the systems I have been using...I think this system would be ideal for smaller tile jobs and wall applications.....if you put them on the floor you can't be walking on your floor for 24 hours...so walking over it a couple of hours later to remove them to ensure you don't break the tee and keep them reusable won't work ...in my opinion....thank you!!!! And your tile job looks good to me....great job

I use those. Love 'em. I don't use on every tile. I level as I lay and only use on those areas that need it so I have less breakage. 👍🏻

This is a great, thorough review by a normal person, lol. I'm considering these and the points you raise can factor into the job from the start. Think I'll be setting a timer to remind me to remove them.

I bought Fliessen Schlüssel from Aydinc in Germany. Not perfect, but as I read about the issues with these, I appreciate them more and more. Aydinc’s system uses spring steel wire with two independent legs. They can lift tiles of variable thickness and, if they get covered with mortar, can be wriggled out 100% of the time. Its been years since I bought them so I don't know about availability. They’re not cheap (shipping is expensive from Germany) but worth it.

I've been tiling for 20 years I'm very fussy. These are ok for the odd tile to pull the corner down. Your suppose to turn the whole thing to clear the adesive around the t bit before leaving it to set. I find that if you cut one side t bit off it's useful to slide between 2 tiles to lift of wall. To apply or scrape of adesive depending whether high or low.. when using on tiles that are no bigger than 300mm by 300mm they can actually push tile appart when tightening. Best advice is to level and straighten walls before tiling using a straight edge. Prepereration is key spend time getting wall right. it will save time and effort in long run getting that perfect Finnish.
@reddbeard20303 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Every thing he said! Sounds like I wrote this, lol. Can't use these to cover up bad prep. Tighten too much will cause issues. 👍🏻

Thanks to you. I now remember to loose them. After 20/40min.
@pandad86892 жыл бұрын
Hi been using these for years the reason why you are having these issues 1. The adhesive should be applied to the tiles not the wall leaving an edge clearance of about 10mm. This will allow the clip to rotate and be removed easily. Another good reason for buttering the tile and not the wall this is to allow the grout to reach the wall giving the grout security. 2. This allows you to remove the clips very simply with out breaking the steel clip. They are brilliant and save a bundle on costs and no plastic waste.

this works well only for wall tiling. for floor tiling, tiles move to the direction where the screw turns together. for floor tiling, clip and wedge works better.

That is why you use spacers. I use this system for both wall and floors and it is by far the best system hands down.

These are a Bitch to get out once thinset dries.But i found the Best use for these is to Use When You Use a Clip and wedge system And you over tighten the wedge causing it to break.Instead of Poppin the thinset covered tile Out and Inserting a New Clup,I use These To Eliminate That Step .Works great.Saves Crazy time Especially when using 1/16 clips which break Often .

I bought 300 of them 2 years ago broke only 6 of them. After I learned how to use them switched completely to them. But for anyone going to buy them read the comments because some of them are creepy. Things the god seller will advertise and provide zoomed pictures to proof. There are no plastic remains they smooth, black nut surface touching tile is smooth. Metal T hook pin is not bending it's springy, made from hard steel. They hand operated with butterfly nut the spanner is for extreme cases only. They made of ABS with glossy finish and mat surface on griping places. The T pin is all same thickness 1mm and the hooking part is 7mm. There is many creepie copies. Good ones they usually over 25€ for 50pcs. Without shipping. Red and black.

I ordered 50 pcs, just out of curiosity. If it works i keep them and use. I have 1 main concern about this. Most of my job have uneven walls, so i always have to calculate and feel how to "cheat". I am afraid this product was designed for ideal (fairy tale ideal) circumstances which i think is rare. But will see.

@hmv4u25 жыл бұрын
no it wont,I think any help is better than none-my issue was my walls are uneven and being a novice I thought these would pull everything level-which they didn't,my advice for whats its worth is to make sure you have a decent amount of adhesive and your tiles are as level as possible before using these,rather than thinking these will pull them level and just be extra careful about checking tile lippage if they are big tiles-to be honest I'm probably being a bit hard on myself as no one else has mentioned the tiles being uneven- good luck and don't worry

I'm a professional tiler and these are not that good. They move the tiles as you twist them to tighten them up. That makes them useless as you have to re-align the tiles again. Never come across a tile levelling system that works properly. Use your eyes and run your fingers over the tile joints to feel if they are even.... That's the best way!

Good luck getting those out to re use. Haha these leveling systems are a horrible idea for a diy guy. For pros using them for LF tile raimondi ones work awesome but I would steer away from this garbage. But what would I know because this is only my 18 year as a tile setter.
@theentertainmentchannel53474 жыл бұрын
why do you say that,, I mean why good luck with reuse? Are they not easy to get out? As what I have seen is, that you need to twist it couple of times once places, to avoid metal pin glues to tiles.
@marcspencer8004 жыл бұрын
The Entertainment Channel I say that because good luck getting them to level another tile when covered in thinset. Unless your going to take them apart and clean them with a toothbrush every single time. But who has time for that??
@marcspencer8004 жыл бұрын
I mean you are using them to hold the tile flat right?? So how do you remove them from the mortar once it’s hard?? Wait so you don’t let the mortar get hard and you pull them out while it’s still wet??? That makes zero sense because now it’s not holding the tile and your thinset is still wet. Haha there is absolutely no good way to use them. Because if your needing them for a normal size of tile that means you aren’t setting them properly or your prep sucked or both. the ONLY time we use tile levelers is when we are setting LF porcelain tile that one piece is 120”x65”. Anything smaller than 24” you should never need anything like this if you do a proper install
