@@janetnash Well, a few days ago I made a simple lavender soap as an early Christmas present for my London friend who was visiting. Sending packages over to the UK is a bit of a hassle since the Brexit 😅, so I have started to make her something small that she can take back when she is in Germany to see family and friends. I am thinking about a journal of hope or of friendhip, possibly also a garden journal, not sure yet. My friend brought me some lovely British magazines that I am indulging in today. So much fun.

@@janetnash oh yes Shirley hills is beautiful and I know the bit where all the brakes and heather is. We went lots as children and always had ice cream from a little shop next to the restaurant. I noticed they have cleared an area in the woods opposite the giving tree. I was told it’s part of park management but I don’t remember it before and I’ve lived here for 56 years my whole life. Do you remember the horses in the gardens opposite the end of oaks road on coombe road. We went there so often and saw park rangers on the horses on Shirley hill. I had a friend must be around 80 now who was born on Shirley hills as his parents were running an annual fun fair there No electricity just horses and man power. A different world. Oh all the memories. And the trams make all this accessible ❤️❤️🧚🧚🧚

Hi Janet! What a lovely idea! I have so many of those bags with "unwanted" advertising on them. This is a great way to upcycle them and also make them stronger with a lining. Also when I saw Flo and her sister hanging out in the giving tree, it reminded me of a quote by Samuel Taylor Coleridge - "Friendship is a sheltering tree". at least is always has been for me. I may not have a giving tree near me, but I have my friendships around the world since covid drove us onto the internet.

Where to start! I loved this video! Its Sunday morning here and it was dreary. Right when you came back the next am to work on your stitching the sun popped in my living room. Its so orange this morning. We have had rain all summer. I have not had to water the garden. And with my warm beverage I am watch your fabulous adventures and creation. Your use of fabric medium is genius! I didn’t know Liquitex had a fabric medium which means it makes acrylic washable??? wow! I need that in my life! The ferns turned out great! so did your sunflower. That button box you have is so special! Love it. The gals had an exhibition how sweet is that. I need to still make something for them. I tell you. Watching this video so early put me in a great mood and I feel excited to do something creative today. Your Singer looks like mine. I have a 99k. No manual and no extra pieces I wish I had. I thought it needed servicing but I changed the belt and it works great now. I have no service here for sewing machines. I got a freebie White machine and would live to use it, its good for jeans and leather, but it needs adjusting by a skilled technician.

Jane how wonderful the sun was shining and you feel creative, go gently. Yes the fabric medium makes the acrylic paint softer and more flexible, yes and washable, thin layers advices though and a needle and thread can go through easily. The little round wooden button box was given to me by my neighbour, it is hand wood turned. Oh yes we have the same machine, they are so wonderful. Are you an Instagram ? ( janetnashuk ) so I can send photos of the little sewing machine manual pages. Do hope you have a restful, restorative and creative week. 🩵
