Fred Aunthia, really is quite the singer, and also sung with the Harold Smith Majestics, which Rev. Nicks was organist, and assistant director.

I like the thought that Rev. Dewey Smith of GA has that simply says...'Ministering to 5 Generations!' Every Sunday morning they make sure that they sing songs that every age group loves and gets something from God from them!

"Oh Give Thanks" Concerts at Ford Auditiorium was the only place to be that cold chilly night in November. An era long gone. Thanks for sharing these wonderful memories.

That is very true. There was a Mother @ my church who told me something that still holds true to this day. She said "Potatoes are good but every now and then you want some gravy."

I too want to thank you for posting these videos of the the late Rev. Charles Nicks, Jr. and Jimmy Dowell. As M.O.M @ my church I am starting to revert back to some of these old songs and I want to tell you that the folks have been "going in". I believe that in times like these we need to go back and pull up the songs that help Granny make through, especially during this recession.

OMG If ever there was a time to dress up in your best it was for the O Give Thanks Concert given by St. James Baptist Church. First they did the hymns all dressed up and then Lord look out out came the robes and the shouting music, what a glorious time in the lord my my my wasn't nothing like it. Young people today think they know how to shout for the Lord, oh no sisters in high heels not missing a step, brothers in suits just priaising the Lord. Where did it go, Hip Hop gospel no not for me.

Is there any intent to offer the prior recorded music from St James on CD, Ipod, or as downloads, as there is certainly a *new* market for traditional Gospel Music. It would be such a shame to lose these artful & historical renditions of praise. The videos provided on KZbin would make awesome DVD's. Please spearhead someone's considering to do this. Thank you for posting all of these videos as it gives me sweet rememberances of a home (Detroit) I left in1976, & always return to. :-)
