On the issue of generosity: my family from the UK visited the USA for the first time ever in June 2023. I was apprehensive - I was expecting to be lucky to come home alive after watching a lifetime of violence in North Amercian movies! After staying in Alabama and New York I was astonished: a stranger helped us, whilst we were stranded at Huntsville airport, to find an Uber taxi to get to our destination and even paid the fair without our knowledge (he refused repayment). In New York a man helped us with the Metro card machine by paying $175 with his own bank card (we paid him back); and on our return flight home, a young man at the airport gave our daughter, who has special needs, his Nintendo Switch! Our holiday filled me with hope and changed my mind about America after meeting some of the kindest, friendliest and the most generous of spirit people I've ever met.

What's the point in going to church then if one doesn't believe in God? Might as well sleep in on Sunday morning. Almost like having a member of an atheist organization openly state that they're Christian. Worse than Marcus Borg. At least he still believed in some concept of God even though it may be different from the traditional Christian understanding and despite his understanding of the resurrection.

Excellent speech...I dont believe in the existence of any supernatural being ,normally known as "god" I beleive in being a good citizen..bible is good book to read but not a sacred one...
