Wrong wrong wrong! It's surprising how delusional people are when it comes to politics. Should go back and watch school house rock's on how a bill becomes a law. There is a reason why many well intended politicians do not solely debate about poor people, reparations, guarantee living wage, doubling the minimum wage etc. They know they will likely lose the election. Above all else, a politician must get elected to pass policies. The majority of this country and the majority of the voting electorate is still dominated by white conservatives aka republicans. It sickens me to hear personalities celebrities and others say all politicians are virtually the same. They should try harder to identify their enemies.. When just about every white republican congressman, white republican senator, white republican president, white republican voter which tend to be usually white men tell you to your face over and over again and again decade after decade they're against every single thing you want then why turnaround and blame it on the democrats who are by far more representative of the diversity in the country and far more willing to help you achieve the things you want in life. Blaming democrats for years of republican opposition is why the republicans remain in office and continue to stay in power and why nothing ever really changes for so many black people. When politicians openly oppose you as self proclaimed enemies of yours you then should vote against them and yes I'm specifically referring to voting against republicans. It's really not that complicated.

@sarahritter7235

@Paul Bolger is realize that is true. But for the most part people do not vote. Only 53% of the nation actually vote. If a larger percentage actually did vote we as a all of America would have better leadership that represents more if what average American feels. Right now big money controls the political system. That is not representative of most of nation. I am for protests and making ourselves heard but it should be followed with actions. I list of demands to the democrats would cause panic within to force a change. As in "if you don't do this we won't vote for you". That is what the people did with FDR. It was just a statement of how we could force someone real change. Voting in local elections is how you change your city. Vote for completely different candidates, get people in that share your values. I know not everyone can vote but the people around you can. Get them to vote within your interests as well. They might can change the laws so you can vote in the future. Not voting won't change any it will cause things to say the same.

The fear of being murdered like that ,the false opportunity of inclusion ,the policies of destruction of the black family ,and the crime being illuminated in the black community has contributed to this lack of direction...Infighting and crab in the bucket mentality to those who have “made it” also keeps us held back... Republicans are different than democrats because republicans oppose free health care, increasing the minimum wage, stricter environmental laws, gun control, oppose voting rights laws, prison reform, reparations, hate crimes bills, oppose more funding for federal assistance programs for those in need, more funding for education/public school/federal aid programs like grants. The list goes on and on when it comes to what republicans opposed and voted against to stop these so-called progressive policies or bills introduced and supported by democrats from ever becoming laws. Politics is all about voting. Every single thing that happens in our government is mostly decided on by voting. They even voted to enslave black people and then had to vote to outlaw the enslavement of black people. So, noting in this country is done or undone without voting. The party with the most representatives in office hold the most votes to pass laws to control government policies. The notion democrats are like republicans only help republicans to remain in office so they can continue voting to oppose everything that black people want. The republican party is made up about 90% white. 95% of republican politicians and judges are white men. It's a party of almost entirely white conservative men who for ages have done all they can to oppose its rival which is a diversified democratic party comprised of politicians and voters of all ages all races genders educational backgrounds and income levels. Now tell me which party is likely to try to keep the conditions of black people the same as they've been for almost 300 yrs. This is just like sports when it comes to winning the votes. Republicans try their best to stop democrats and the democrats try their best to stop republicans. Both parties want their policies voted into law and that's all that matters because that's how they win and get re-elected. The republican party by far is the better team. It's more united. It's more powerful. It hasn't changed much in the last 50 yrs. It's backed by more money and influence. Republicans been playing the game longer and more experienced. They know how to lie and cheat and get away with it (gerrymandering, gentrification (yes gentrification), supreme court judges appointments). The referees usually give them most the calls. Why because they're mostly white men and they and their fans/supporters will vehemently attack anyone who is against them because they want to win by any means necessary.

Money was the worst thing ever invented. Nature makes every resource available to sustain everyone freely. But it is when greedy men who controls the resources by making evil policies for greedy men who stealing all of resources and not willing to share it. Gluttony or Greed , and Division is one of 7 deadly sins. Politicians use these two Sins to keep the oppressed.

So Malcolm X’s ideology was exactly what??? A lot of ambition and communication but no legislation or resolutions... I love how Malcolm is viewed but he never got anything done that changed the life of black peoples lives... we love the way he spoke truth to power eventho it was never empowering to the people he was speaking for... it’s easy to look down on MLK legacy of nonviolence movement but his ideology was he ain’t no punk... imma do something instead of talking about what can be done

We as low income people (especially POC) need proper representation if not something close to proper is better than nothing. Why not make ALL children truly matter by Instituting family lawyers to those families who can't afford it. Like a family doctor knows a young person since birth, so should a family lawyer. ALL CHILDREN MATTER. We can't fix the whole system but we can fix a piece by putting these lawyers in people's lives who can't afford them. The relationship between lawyers and POC have to change, no more hanging with my enemy and then pretend to have my loyalty, lawyers should be connected to POC AT BIRTH. Of course there'd be trust laws signed to legally bind lawyers and client together, were just as under represented in health care as we are judicially. To be under represented is to be a target, that has to change by giving low income families, Family Lawyers. The priority list for Cops have to change as well by giving people specialist. The job descriptions for Cops have be changed as well. More of us treating people like people, and less labels (crackhead, alcoholics) let's focus on solutions. All CHILDREN MATTER

It’s sad that this interview hasn’t picked up the numbers and traction that it deserves. I hated how they normalized a racist like Limbaugh and in a way gave him room to absolve himself from all that he’s perpetuated against the black community and the working class as a whole.

I like this man and this movement a lot, even though I don't agree with every point. He's solutions-oriented and his rhetoric skews towards unity, solutions, and positivity, rather than division and simply mulling over the problems we are dealing with.
