Pretty awesome seeing an OG Mustang/ Magazine guy like Evan doing a KZbin channel. $4700 is certainly a good deal for that car. In the Northeast people would be asking 7-8k no doubt.

I have a 1987 LX Hatch Mustang, it is absolutely mint condition. It was bought brand new by an old lady and when she passed away her son built it up a bit and I bought it off him. It still had the original spare tire, jack and everything lol.

That tee in the heater hose looks like an old Preston flush kit that you connect a water hose to for flushing the cooling system.

Charcoal grey 5.0L '90 LX in better than average shape? Here in CA, $4,700 is a bargain considering it's honest condition. Yes, east coast cars are much more crusty due to the stuff used to clear out snowfall and also the moisture throughout the majority of the year, but many times the cars have lower mileage and the soft trim parts aren't baked to death, so there's a trade-off between where a car is purchased. That car is easily a $7000-$8000 car out west.

Agree, even here out in CO a 4-5k car is in pretty rough shape and more rarely running. No rust but plenty of abuse. It doesn't help that people from east and west are shopping in my area for the same cars because we don't salt the roads. I was VERY luck to buy my mostly original LX Hatch in NM for 4k about 2 years ago, nice enough that I'm hesitant to mod it over restore, so I shop for other cars I can mod and they generally cost more and are need a lot more work. Today it would bring 6k and not last a day.

really glad i seen this. im buying a 91 gt tomorrow believe it or not. having to drive over 3 hours 1 way to bring it back. Hes asking about 3800, but i know its definitely not as nice as this one. at least now i know where to start. In my honest opinion this example is extremely nice and has me worried about what ill see tomorrow. but in the end ill see. Biggest gripe by far is that its an auto....
@mw2guy999

I purchased it. Being in the east coast 90% of cars are rust buckets.... ill say this. the interior needs some work BUT i got a 302 motor spare, a t5 and a driveshaft, 2 flawless spare doors (not for replacing the original doors but to use as parts for things like mirrors and trim with perfect inside door panels), 2 brand new spare oem headlights, a new in box shifter assembly. I had low expectations but when i say this was a virgin gem ... IT WAS. not a spec of rust anywhere under or even on the shock towers, only the rear end which is cast iron? didn't know that. Also no mods at all. its bone stock minus blue fogs and an egr delete..... BESIDES THAT, EXTREMELY HAPPY. Outer paint is a bit rough and interior needs work but besides that. its a perfect foundation.

I ended up buying a 90 with an AOD. It really sucked because it would not hold in gear, and it would always downshift overdrive at full throttle. First gear went to the moon, it was so slow out of the hole. I changed the gearing to 4.10 and with the .68 overdrive, it was perfect. Next a PA valve body lets you shift gear by gear and will allow full throttle overdrive. Completely transformed the car. So the T5 and clutch assy. will go on another project.
