This kit was “partially” hand charted. The computer render was done at 120 colours. There were around 20 iterations done with different levels of brightness and contrast to try and get the skin tones as near as possible to the original. The hand charting was done on the face area to blend the colours nicely. A lot of work was done with the coral (which actually looked like electricity close up on the original) that drove the AB placement. At the end colours with a low drill count were removed to give the final 113 count. Overall the hand charting time was around 20 hours. To give an idea of a full hand chart, for an image this size with say 50 colours takes me around 80-100 hours. It’s a lot of work which is probably why most other companies doing hand charting outsource this to the manufacturer but we love to keep control of the final image 😀

With an explanation such this, one can truly appreciate the work that goes into to each diamond artwork piece and the costs involved. Amazingly and beautifully done. Great job. Hope to make a purchase soon. 😊💎

Hi lady Katie, your reviews are always my favorite videos and what a looker she is, too! A huge thank you to Andrea Tramutolo for sharing your exquisite piece with us. Without our artists the world would not be the vibrant, beautiful place it is. Thank you Diamond Art Studio UK for recognizing, promoting and producing wonderous artwork. And of course thank you too, Katie for giving us the benefit of your experience and unbiased impressions. ❤☮💚☯❤

I have the "City Lights in the Snow" (100 colors) that I just got, and I looked, and I am not seeing the creases on the back. It is a smaller canvas. I was working on my Advent calendar (4 1/2 more spaces to go), while I listened to this. From doing the Advent calendar, I have fallen in love with this company, and hope I enjoy my new picture as well. Yes, their customer service is beyond great. I messaged with them quite a bit when starting my Advent calendar as they hadn't seen the squares finished at that point. Also, their shipping to the US is incredible! I have no idea why they can get a package to me in less than a week, and DAC I have been waiting almost two weeks since the package was shipped, and still don't have it. Hoping my experience with the picture is as great as the Advent calendar, but you are right they are more than willing to listen to any suggestions. The postage and exchange rate do bring up the price, but I figure I am having many hours of fun, so I am willing to pay the additional cost.

This is gorgeous. I am still working on Outside the sweetshop and I am taking a little break. Only because the colors at the bottom are a little darker and I wanted to work on some brighter colors for a little bit. But the kit is absolutely beautiful and a joy to work on. I cant wait until I can purchase from them again as well.

Thank you for the clear review and the heads-up on the two symbols that are very close together in appearance. I do have this one in my stash and will definitely make a note of that. I plan on working on one of the newest Helkoyo releases “Rain Dancer Denise” in the new year. I was a dancer for years and the sheer joy this piece brought to my heart will help me get through the slog part of winter between February and March. ❤💃🌈

My first kit that I.m working on now as lots of confetti. I work slowly on it and take breaks. I really do enjoy painting regardless.

I LOVE TO "DE-CONFETTI" THE KITS BY WORKING ON ONLY ONE COLOR AT A TIME!! THIS ALSO MAKES PRE-WORK PREPARATION MUCH EASIER BY ONLY OPENING ONE BAG AT A TIME!!

Wow, so beautiful. Enjoy your honest reviews! You ever keep track of the amount of time it takes to complete one? I’m always amaze me at how many you have going at the same time and yet you finish them all so quickly. I know in a prior whip and chat you spoke about storage. I’m hoping you will share how you store your finished pictures.

I've had folds like that before on a poured glue canvas of another brand (would have to double check--might have actually been DAC). Never flattened out, even when I released the washi etc. I think it just happens on rare occasions...

This type of crease I get in a lot of canvas! I get them a lot with Jaded Gem Shop, and even a couple of times with DAC but really any canvas I have (I only have poured glue). They are not present when I receive the canvas, so it's not a manufacturing fault, but they appear when I unroll and then re-roll my canvas to work on them (I've tried loose or tight roll, drills in and out, around something or not)... And yet they very often form in my canvas. They are not a dealbreaker, just a bit disappointing to me, so I work through them, but if anyone finds a solution I would love to know! I've tried laying something heavy on top, "slicing" the glue, cutting the washi around like you... Best I have succeded is to diminish them a little.
