Cool theory. Good job. Now if we could just turn Cornelius Fudge into actual fudge and eat him.

You were obsessed with magical candies that came from a magical universe, and you were disappointed to learn they weren't real. How old were you at the time of discovery? I'm not poking at you with a stick, I'm actually curious. I will admit, I grew up with Star Trek: The Next Generation (yes I'm old), and I thought, at the tender age of 7, that transporters were real, and why my parents didn't have it, why did we have a boring old car?!

interesting thought, however Ron had "about six of him" , most likely stacked in a deck in a box in his bedroom. There is not much to learn or spy on there, most cards normally would not travel with the owner. That and often smeared with chocolate which is hard to see through.

So you are saying the chocolate frog cards are like a smart phone? Always listening and watching what we do. Like if I happen to be talking about underwater basket weaving, my phone hears it and next time I am scrolling along somewhere I start seeing ads for classes in underwater basket weaving. Also, who owned the chocolate frogs? Could Dumbledore have been an early investor? Could he be the wizard behind them? The Wizarding World wants to know more.

I think Dumbledore uses multiple means of getting information. While he might use the chocolate frog cards to get information I think he also has other options on getting information. Like he most likely gets The Daily Prophet everyday like everyone so he can keep up to date on wizarding world news. Also being he’s so famous and he has a lot of friends he can ask them to keep an eye on any suspicious activity doesn’t matter how odd it seems to them just let him know what they saw.

Interesting theory! I have a related take: What if Dumbledore had actual foresight, not just great intuition? His decisions (letting Harry face Quirrell, leaving the Chamber of Secrets crisis to unfold, orchestrating the Time-Turner events, and even allowing Harry into the Triwizard Tournament) could have been calculated moves based on visions of the only victorious path. That ‘flash of triumph’ in Goblet of Fire suggests he wanted Voldemort to return using Harry’s blood, knowing it would ultimately ensure Harry's survival and Voldemort's downfall. Maybe his skepticism toward Divination was just a cover for his own abilities, much like Gandalf restraining from killing Gollum as he foresaw his role in destroying the One Ring. Thoughts?

I always thought Dumbledore was skillful in divination. Not a whole lot, but enough to b made aware of things, and using his wits to put them together. That's my theory.

As far as the cards not being as advanced as the portraits, perhaps that is just a matter of how much effort is put into them by the subject. We know that Dumbledore (and others) spent a lot of time conversing with the image in his portrait so that it could be more like the real him when he died. In addition, we know that with both the cards and portraits, while multiple might exist, they often share a single subject between them. (IE one Dumbledore for all the frog cards, and the same Phineas Black between the two portraits in Dumbledore's office at Hogwarts and 12 Grimauld Place. From here, I find two possibilities... Either, there are a total of two Dumbledore picture entities, one for the portraits, and one for the chocolate frog cards, but Dumbledore, unlike most wizards, actually put effort in training the smaller portrait in the chocolate frog cards. Or, unlike most important/famous wizards who have separate representations in the chocolate frog cards and the portraits, Dumbledore managed to link the two so that it's a single entity for both. Either way, this ends up with Dumbledore's card being far more capable than is normal.

It would make sense. Dumbledore, as Arthur Weasley pointed out, doesn't miss much. How would he know that Harry had gotten to the Weasley house (book #2) or to The Leaky Cauldron (book #3)? How would he have known how Harry was being treated at the Dursleys' house? How did Fudge find out that Harry was at The Leaky Cauldron?
@TheLastKentuckyIrregular952425 минут бұрын
Decent theory. Personally I've always bought into the idea that he had a time turner or a spell that gave him a similar ability. It would have to be a very limited ability.
