Thank you all for the incredible engagement on this episode! If you’re fascinated by the connections between ancient Ethiopia and Egypt, you won’t want to miss the next episode. I’ll be speaking with Adey Getachew, a healer and spiritual guide with deep knowledge of ancient Ethiopian, Nubian, and Kushite traditions. Adey will share insights into the influence of ancient Ethiopia on Egyptian civilization and its spiritual practices. Her work is rooted in ancient knowledge, and her mission is to help others heal and align through the wisdom of the Nile. Stay tuned, this is a conversation you don’t want to miss!

Dear Weyni Tesfai, Before you go to your next episode, few thoughts on this one & your hypothesis on the possible ruse played by the Egyptian coptic church : - it is not only Egypt, eritrea/ethiopia are also catagorized into oriental studies by the biggies who studied our region, and who happen to be orientalist, the semetic language being the driving factor. - in addition to the demading irrigation work you mentioned, being a minority and serving the powerful, I don't think the coptic Egyptians had means of practicing & respecting the calendar of saints. Calendar of saints exists in catholic and orthodox denominations. - Moselem was the religion of the powerful in Egypt. - Tewahdo church was the powerful in Habeshaland. The priests controlled everything. The Ethiopian patriarch of Egyptian origin didn't have much power except excommunication and confirming priesthood & +. The Etchegue (always a Habesha) had the power. - I am not sure if the Habesha men were always respecting the saint days. How about the constant interstine wars? The women and the church Tabots and priests were also going to those war fronts too! To continue after listening to your guest, hopefully.

The Kebra Negast was compiled by Nebure Id Ishaq in the 15 th century. In it is the regnal list with names like Amenhotep, Amenemhet, Abryalus, Kendakie, etc... the so called Egyptians didn't know the names or language of the Pharaonic era Kings, until Napoleonic troops stumbled upon the ROSETTA STONE in 1799😂😂😂

This is perhaps the most genuine and clear representation of the complex reality surrounding the tension between Ethiopia and Egypt regarding the Nile River. It highlights the fact that while Ethiopia is striving to harness the Nile’s potential for development through the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Egypt’s arguments often stem from an outdated and disproportionately favorable status quo established during colonial-era agreements. These agreements fail to reflect the modern realities and needs of upstream nations like Ethiopia, which has a legitimate right to utilize its resources for development. Thank you for providing such an honest and clear perspective on this important issue.

Ethopia doesn't have the right to cut egypt's supply of water, causing famine and drought which the GERD will do if filled to its full capacity. There are international agreements and laws that protect that. You need to leave your afrocentrist mentality and worldview behind !

Dear Sister. Wonderful presentation. I am an African American. I visited Aswan in 2023. It was life changing. Aswan is beautiful, as were the people. They were so open and friendly. They invited me into their homes and to dinner. They were dignified and humble and did not treat my group like some Arabs in Cairo did. In Cairo, we received very aggressive engagement from people selling us things....bordering on harassment. With the Nubians we sat on the floor in their homes and drank tea. They asked for donations if we were inclined and did not try to overcharge us like in Cairo. Yah, bless your endeavors. Keep up the great work.

@@gogochee1095 It’s not because you’re African American . If you ask anyone in Egypt, they will tell you that people of aswan are the kindest in Egypt. The treatment you get in Cairo, is similar to what you get in a lot of big touristy cities around the world.Cairo is about 20 million .I lived in the bronx, and lived in philly, and even though they are smaller than cairo i can tell you that if you knock on the door of any house in cairo as a stranger asking for help, you would get help nine time out of ten, Now try that in a big city in the US. Everyone in Egypt is Egyptian who speaks Arabic and live in the African continent . People in cairo are not (arabs) and people in aswan are not (africans). If you profile people according to their skin color, then allow me to tell you, the systematic racism and oppression you experienced in the US got into your head!

It is good you took it back to link the issue to our brothers in Upper Egypt, the people up until today are not considered by most Egyptians part or section of their community with equal rights. I for years have had my university studies in Alexandria, enough years to know their mentality and prejudice towards towards our Nubian brothers and sisters and lived there to know more than that. Thanks Weyni for your insightful approach. In closing, during your visit to Egypt, did you ever notice or question why majority of statues are with broken noses.

I’m very proud to see your channel here and I share this: I also studied in Germany , I’m an African-American- I travel to Egypt in 1990 spent 3 1/2 weeks going up and down the Nile. The Arab Egyptians continually told me they were not African, but I also knew they were not the ones who built the pyramids. Even inside of King tut’s tomb all the figurines I saw were black. They were darker than I am. My grandmother had taught me growing up the king to look just like me. So no matter the narrative of the Europeans and the Arabs I already knew the truth. I can’t wait to visit Ethiopia. My cousin has recently been teaching me about the Ethiopian Bible. Something my Jewish pastor does not like.

You have got every important detail about the truth of Blue Nile and its ancient connection to the source of antagonism historically lingered between timid Ethiopia as the source of the water and Egypt as the triumphant lone beneficiary. Recently I feel that God has called me back to my love of history, particularly African diasporic history and its relationship to my Christian faith. It led me to one of the first African American female romance novelists in my country, Pauline Hopkins and her work. I’m currently half way through one of her novels called Of One Blood or The Hidden Self, about a young man in post civil war America who leaves Boston to study the ancient ruins of Ethiopia. Hello, former International Relations student here. That Christians from Egypt introduced these saint days to prevent Ethiopia from developing. It reminds of the strict rules some Jews follow on Saturdays. Your research in Ethiopia is a good example of why we need to listen to local voices before initiating projects. Despite that claiming that God wants his people to suffer is incomprehensible to me. There definitely is a need to negotiate between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia on sharing the water of the Nile. The Indus waters treaty between Pakistan and India could be a great example of that.

Be quiet illiterate. The Greeks never used the term Egypt, genius. Egypt is the anglicized name of the first unified kingdom Hikuptah. All the variations of the different names of Egypt in different languages around the world stem from two ancinet names, Hikuptah and the semitic name Misiru. Subsaharan Africa has absolutely nothing to do anything with Egypt. There is remoltey nothing in subsaharan Africa that vaguely resembles anything Egyptian. Egyptian influence never went beyond the 4th cataract and in diluted version. Up until today there not one subsaharan African country that is not made up of several ethnic tribes that even citizens of the same country don't share common language or culture and Egypt was never ever a tribal society.

Your posts are very helpful for me to get a better understanding of the African culture, history and current situations. To say the least, trying to understand Africa, is a bit complicated due to the number of countries within the continent. I will continue to follow your posts. Regarding religion influences, it is a common tools used by many countries to oppress and control people. It was used by the colonial colonizers of the Americas with limited success. I am planning to visit Egypt one day: especially Aswan. You are from Ethiopia, I love Amharic language and I can say "Tenastelign". :) For answer the question you ask at the end, according to my life's experience, religions are often (not always) a way for a government (or group of people) for manipulate people. I never went to Ethiopia and Egypt, I have few Ethiopian friends, I learned from your video that they were a relation between Egypt and Ethiopia. It's hard for me to provide an opinion about a place I never went and a mentality that I don't know but in life in general, no mather where you go, it's often like this.

They know the truth but the last part is 🔦 AFRICA is why ? if they dont claim it ; then what are they doing in Africa? ITS THE SAME Dual argument they have with species and people category. the main question is "If you are not African , then what are you? " its a simple question but if you answer NO. you will have to find your original roots. This is to claim of origins of Kemetic history and human history as a label. BOTH arguments ironically ends with " arent we all Africans anyways"? 😆 saying black Africans is wild to me😁 I dont use sub-saharan or black African. Because words are powerful and they intent is to rob of presence. both intellectually by calling them sub" ie subpar or removing the description of Africa and who OWNS It. THERE are countries inside the Sahara that they called sub-saharan. because its NOT a geological description; sub arctic is never used .....and many countries in the northern hemispheres are below the arctic desert.

Religion brought to black/ African is rooted in politics and control of their beings. Remove religion African will be free mind to think well of themselves and livelihood. Religion is the worst that has happened to us as a black race and African precisely. As a human being. You have a brain to know what's right, good and best for us. But we choose to let foreign religion, islam or Christian hold us down with fear of whatever god and block our thinking or reasoning faculty. African has been. living in nature, which is a teacher, a nurturer, provider and sustainability and spirituality loving ourselves. Our spirituality allows us to make best use of our land, the mother nature to provide for her children. Us in the land but not to have resources and still suffering because of what religious all these foreign organisation brought to African land. The earlier we do away with this scam of religion , the best relief we shall be to start making our live better with better infrastructures. Pan Africanism is an antiquated ideology. It failed in the 1960’s as did pan Arabism and pan Asian ideology. People will always look out for their best interests not a false camaraderie with people. If you guys are pan Africanist why aren’t you living in Africa? Pan Africanism doesn’t exist in Africa. My Eritean wife laughs at the concept of pan Africanism. Ask Eritreans living in Ethiopia is there is a strong brotherhood. Ask Sudanese people in Sudan ethnic cleaning is it pan Africanism in Africa. There are a few individuals in the continental states of Africa who espouse these ideals. The majority have no interest in it they identify by their ethnic group. Ask people in the DRC tribal conflict is it pan africanism. Ask Uganda and Rwanda who exploit dRC resources they believe in pan africanism

But do you know the longest stretch of the River Nile source is in Uganda? That is the other part of the Source of the *Main* Stretch of the River Nile, which then the Blue Nile branch of it meets the Main Nile in the Sudan. Including the whole River as a *Whole* is important to include all of it. But same applies to Uga, the Country further North before the Nile washes into the Mediterrean Sea, gives orders as to what they can and Can't do I on the Nile...😮😮 Wow the religion part is mind-opening and it makes you think....making sense...

In ancient times, Egyptian interactions with other African communities were largely limited to military campaigns aimed at safeguarding the Nile’s flow. Many scholars highlight Egypt’s extraordinary depth in art, engineering, religion, philosophy, and governance-often considered highly advanced relative to neighbouring societies of the period. With that in mind, the intent behind this video remains unclear: is it attempting to claim aspects of Egypt’s civilisation, or is it focused on the control of the region’s water resources?
@muhammadgalal4744
@muhammadgalal4744 3 күн бұрын
exactly, unclear intent. And why surprise most of Egyptians` anxiety for "their waters". This thing by some Ethiopians trying to claim water property "alone" and ignoring the concept of mutual use of rivers with Obligation not to cause significant harm to others, would eventually cause conflict that we can all avoid. and of course this attempt to describe lower Egypt population as Arab dominated, disregarding the fact that Egypt as uni-race nation has ended centuries ago, and that being Arab is not a race thing specially in a country like Egypt and being Arab is cultural thing. very politicly driven video

@@kemetancientafricaa FBA is a Foundational Black American. What you may not be aware of is that some indigenous Americans were in fact Black-most were. You are probably aware of the 5 “civilized” tribes who subscribe to white supremacy, which led to them receiving reparations. FBA are individuals who can trace their ancestry to enslavement in America. This distinction is important due to some blacks who come here who feel that they aren’t “Black American/ African America”. Many white people believe all black people are all from Nigeria😂

13:15 spot on. Kenya and all East African countries is not allowed to use water from lake Victoria because of a colonial treaty between then rulers, British,and Egypt. Lake Victoria also contributes to river Nile .

Why? We’re Foundational Black Americans, not Egyptians. Egyptians were Black, but we’re not them. If anything, we’re the descendants of the Israelites they enslaved.

@@exalteduchiha1563 Perhaps you should watch the video of the European anthropologist who thought just like you, and then could hardly hide his disappointment when the DNA of the Egyptian mummy he excavated came back to show this young African king was a full “Subsaharan African”. A lot of people saw it. In fact, one of them just might give us the information on where to FIND that video! Watch it…..If you dare. 🫵🏾😳 😂🤣😂🤣😂
