Hello Kai, great video very concise. If you don't mind me asking: Do you have any rationale on picking brokers or exchanges? I see you use Nexo, but not bigger exchanges like Kraken. Would you mind to recommend a model of Ledger(s) to buy? Same for the Brokers, Do you consider T212 as a long-term alternative to IBKR? And lastly, are you planning to do a video about tax planning related to the invesments, cash and real-state you have? Thank you.

Hi Patrick, thanks a lot 🙌 I look at brokers that have a large, ideally global presence as I have and will continue to move around the world I want my broker to support me. I want to have a nice user interface. I want them to be large by size of assets under management and trustworthy, lowest possible fees and have the ability to transfer my portfolio to another broker. I do consider IBKR long-term, that's why I am also building up a portfolio over there for long-term, I will still be using both as I think each one is great in their own right. As for crypto exchanges, I have used Kraken, Crypto com, Coinbase, Binance and co in the past but what I like about Nexo is there simplicity of the user-exerpeience, low fees if you are on Platinum level, their card which had been great, that I can borrow money against my crypto and now I get 10% interest on my USDT so in many way better than those big players and we've also seen big players like FTX go bust, while I appreciate how transparent Nexo has been. I use Bitget for a bit of crypto trading as they offer more coins and slightly lower trading fees, but for the rest Nexo is awesome. As for taxes, I live in Dubai so taxes are luckily not relevant to me anymore 🙏 But also it would be very hard to do, as I am not a tax expert and it's so different for every country so maybe best to look specifically for video on this topic in your country. Hello Kai, are the received dividends included with these unrealized or realized gains/losses? Or is this only the stock prices? Are the dividends included in the performance that you showed us at the beginning?

So it’s better to deposit fiat money and convert it to usdt in nexo or bybit than to deposit fiat money to IBKR or trading 212 because the interest rates are much higher. Am I right ?

Hi and you got it, at least it's an option and yes, the interest is much more attractive on USDT than on FIAT USD but of course, it comes with platform and stablecoin risk, but at double the rewards, it might be worth it, at least for some part of your funds. Hi, I think it's a great option if people do not want to bother with reinvesting their dividends. In most countries there is no differentiation between distributing and accumulating, so in this case, I just like the feeling of receiving the dividends, but again, comes down to each investor, but for sure a solid pick 👌 Cheers

Hi, it looks like the TWRR number on the dashboard does in fact consider dividends, but you can also see that separately under performance & reports > statements > realised summary then choose YTD and you will see the breakdown 👌

Hi, I don't have access to Schwab but from what I heard these are some differences. Ease of Use: Schwab is more beginner-friendly, while Interactive Brokers caters to advanced traders. Costs: Interactive Brokers typically has lower trading costs, especially for high-frequency traders. Global Reach: Interactive Brokers offers more comprehensive global market access. Platform: Schwab’s platform is simpler, whereas Interactive Brokers offers more complex tools and customization options. I would always prefer Interactive Brokers as they are truly global so it's easier in case I move to another country one day. Hope this helps you decide which broker suits your needs best. Cheers 👋

Great video. Is your Interactive Brokers account a GlobalTraders one? Also do you use margins or is it a cash account? I am changing mine to a cash account and wanted to ask you if you do the same?

Thanks a lot Chris 🙌 Global Trader is one of the apps they have, you will just have an IBKR account and with this you can use all their various platforms, I mostly use IBKR app and Web Portal. I am on the IBKR Pro plan and account is cash as I don't do margin trading 👌 Cheers

Hi mate, thanks and my pleasure. I assume crypto gains are also taxed in Australia like in most places there for yes, technically you would need to if you realised any gains i.e. took profits. If not then, not. There are websites our there that could help you with that koinly.io/ Now how good the Australian government is in chasing up on-chain transactions of it's citizens, I don't know 😉 Cheers

Hi and no, I do not include leveraged money that's why I don't even include my new apartment in Lithuania as it still has a mortgage on it so I do not even factor that one in. Cheers

I have trouble tracking mine because the sell prices are often quite a bit lower than what they try to sell them for. Like in my area houses like mine are currently around 1.5M for sale but I would never know how much I really can get when selling or my net worth in that regard (after subtracting the remaining mortgage).

Thanks. I look at actual sales, depending on where you life some of those real estate marketplaces often list actual sales prices in that area, for me it's apartments so I can even see in that compound per square meter and I usually take the lower end to understate, rather than overstate the value I give it.

It takes a lot to admit that your individual stocks are under performing the market. A lot of dividend investors are stubborn and don’t want to admit that! Consolidating your portfolio is a smart move, in my opinion, as it allows you to focus on maximising your income. Even if your stocks were outperforming the market, it takes time to read the quarterly reports, earnings calls ETC so is it really worth the potential 1-2% extra gains? Or is it far better to increase your income by 2x to invest more? 🤷‍♂️

Thank you and absolutely, that's another good point, the time I save on research and trying to keep up with all the things around the company, I better use that to focus on income generating activities and invest the profits into a passive ETF like the S&P which did outperform all of my dividend stocks and many of my individual stocks 😉 Cheers

Hi, actually SPY5 is cheaper than VUSA, that's why I switched to it and since they lowered their expense ratio recently, their performance was also better than VUSA, small difference, but still, I take it 😉
