I only got a 2yr college degree back in the late 70's, I always thought going to school was a waste of time. I was always interested in investing back then.I began investing in the late 80's, Now Im 68 and financially secure. Thanks for your content. You're definitely on the right path. Slow and steady.

Thank you for sharing that! I think for me not finishing school was a good move. I would only go back and get my degree if I wanted to pursue something in finance, like as an advisor, wealth manager, or something. I don’t think that that’s the route I want to go though

I'm still happy owning T. They reduced the dividend because they spun-off Warner Brothers, and it seems like the company has been moving in a good direction since the spin off

I always appreciate it when finance people disclose their holdings and performance. Good for transparency and good for building credibility! Also, there's a reason why the undergraduate degree requirement to earn a CFA doesn't care if you majored in art history of accounting, some of the best analysts to ever invest came from really unusual backgrounds so I wouldn't sweat the degree.

Thanks KC! I'm not really sweating the degree. The only reason I'd go back and get it is if I wanted to pursue something more professional in the space besides just making videos on dividend stocks. I'm having too much fun with these videos though that I don't want to do anything else 😂

Earnings are coming out this week for T, VZ and INTC and at least one of those should drop hard after earnings and provide a good opportunity to buy more shares.

Biggest gain right now is from NKE, the largest position though is currently MAIN. I added a small handful of shares before the little run up over the last few weeks. Looking forward to this week's deposit since there are a few positions I'd really like to average down a little on.

Great video!! Do you add monthly to the Schwab account? If I only have $1500 a month to invest and hold 20+ companies, how do you choose which ones you invest in? I’ve just been dollar cost averaging the ones I’m down on, but that’s stopping me from buying things like more shares of $EPD and $O…. Which are great companies! Any advice? :)

Thanks Trevor! I add to both accounts every single week. And I would just allocate your funds into the stocks that you want to build bigger positions in haha. If you’re up a little bit in stocks like EPD and O it’s likely not going to be that big of a deal in the long run

You have an awesome portfolio of stocks and ETF's. One question for you: Wouldn't you have some percentage devoted to growth stocks or ETF's? Like QQQ, for example. Granted, growth is down in the dumps right now, but every dog has his day; one day, growth may come back...

Thank you! I’m just not that interested in buying growth stocks. I would rather prioritize dividend income. Many of the stocks in my portfolio do perform well in terms of share price appreciation though. I hold stocks like CVX, AAPL, LOW, KO, SBUX, PG, and others that have done well for me in terms of share price appreciation and I anticipate will continue to do so

The annualized return is from Charles Schwab and represents a total return, which takes into account dividend income and also takes into account realized gains. The market return on my spreadsheet is just the gain/loss of the stocks in my portfolio as it currently stands

One thing we all be curious to know is are there any stocks you considered but failed to execute on and slipped thru the cracks on you? Or did you sell anything prematurely over the years. Also i wonder did you ever considered adding some fixed income to your retirement strategy. Do you plan to adjust what your investing in over the next 3-6 months if were slowly creeping into a recession? I do think you could create a very interesting short video touching on some those behind the curtain facts you haven't shared with any of us yet. I'm very happy to see you bringing transperancy back to the forefront of your channel! I always knew the magic was there we just had to be patient and shake it free. I remember you saying a few years ago your main plan was to retire very early, what fun stuff would you really do with that cash flow? My best was xom, but i sold my 20 shares at 105 with a cost basis 55. Now the best is arcc, i buy when it dips below 18 and with the payments I'm up like 25% Worst was rok, but I have high conviction with them and kept buying through their slump n now their recovery has been amazing. Now my biggest loser is GOOD... Sigh... Are you taking classes?

Nice delbomb, the thought of locking in gains on my CVX position is very tempting. I could really do some damage by putting all of that into EPD. And no I’m not taking classes. I’ve thought about it though. If I ever decide to actually go back and get my degree, I’d likely try to get it in something like finance. But I don’t have any serious plans to do so at this time

I've been tossing around the idea of retaking basic classes like math and English. Having spent more time out of school than I did in school now a refreshing seems like a good idea
