The United States and the Philippines initiated large-scale joint military exercises on April 22, with 120 warships assembling in the West Philippine Sea, part of the South China Sea. In response, China deployed a counter-force of 124 vessels, including navy ships, coast guard vessels, and maritime militia boats. On the surface, it looks like this Chinese naval deployment was to closely monitor the U.S.-Philippine fleet, but in reality, it only served as a cover for a significant number of Chinese submarines operating below the surface.

Search "Japan loses two helicopters". You'll get plenty of April 21, 2024 articles, like these and more: - CNN: "One dead, seven missing after two Japanese military helicopters crash in Pacific" - AP News: "2 Japanese navy helicopters crash in the Pacific Ocean during training, leaving 1 dead and 7 missing" - USNI News: "Two Japanese Naval Helos Collide Over Philippine Sea; 1 Killed, 7 Missing" You get a follow-up on May 2 from AP, "Japan says a collision during a nighttime drill caused the deadly April crash of 2 navy helicopters". In that it says the following: "TOKYO (AP) - Japanese investigators have determined that a collision during a nighttime drill caused the deadly crash last month of two Japanese navy SH-60K Seahawk helicopters, the country’s defense minister said Thursday. That is according to preliminary flight data analysis, said Defense Minister Minoru Kihara, adding that what exactly led to the collision is still being investigated. Kihara ruled out mechanical failure of the SH-60K Seahawks from the Maritime Self Defense Force and announced that the exercises, which were halted following the crash, would resume on Friday." It wasn't mechanical failure. While the possibility of it having been purely human error on the part of the Japanese crews obviously exists, in a world with Havana Syndrome, with the PLAN blasting sonar at Australian divers, with the PLAN and PLAAF firing military lasers at US and US ally pilots to try and blind them, China supplying fentanyl to the US, and so on, how much do you really believe in "accidents"? Also do you think that the Japanese would admit that China had engaged in an act of war if they knew it had deliberately attacked their aircraft, anymore than the US is acknowledging that China is engaging in an act of war with fentanyl? It's an unsubstantiated reach, but it isn't implausible given everything else that is already known to have happened as fact.

American SSNs and SSBNs are so well-provided for because they stay on patrol for months, even years at a time, traversing the world's oceans. SSBNs may not even surface until the end of a patrol, just to keep our enemies guessing about where our sub-launched nukes are at any given time. It seems like Chinese submariners have living conditions not much advanced from WWII-era subs, like they're living Das Boot. They're basically a coastal force, incapable of matching the USN's reach.

It depends on which “Americans” you choose to do that 90KG deadlift. Obesity is rife in this country, due to HFCS being in almost everything. At age 18 or could lift my own weight over my head (80 KG) as a “Clean and jerk.” Most male high-schoolers today can’t lift their own body weight and over their heads. As an old man (60+) I can still lift about 40 KG over my head, but it’s an effort. Too much time spent on Smartphones and Keyboards!

Australian Collins class subs are the quietest on the planet. They are a Swedish design and we have two on constant patrol east of China to protect our shipping lanes. My son is on one of them. He tells me that they can detect a Chinese sub 50kms away they are so noisy. But the US nuclear subs are also noisy. The reactors must have their cooling pumps on all the time. It was widely reported that a Australian Collins sub on exercises with the Japanese navy, surfaced undetected right bedside the USS Carl Vinson CVN70, and sent a message, "Bang, bang, you're sunk."

TOKYO (AP) - Japanese investigators have determined that a collision during a nighttime drill caused the deadly crash last month of two Japanese navy SH-60K Seahawk helicopters, the country’s defense minister said Thursday. The two helicopters were believed to have come too close during what was a drill on anti-submarine warfare, involving multiple helicopters hovering and lowering sonars into the water. Some media reports have said an anti-collision alarm system was not used, possibly due to training for harsh environment.

This video is in direct contradiction to the US Navy's 2 year long investigation. In summary the investigation found that at the time of the mishap, both bottom dept monitors were inoperable which were logged but the captain and XO and the senior enlisted were not informed. So they didn't know their position relative to the sea bottom, i.e., sailing blind so to speak. Additionally, the boat was off course by 1.5 K and accidentally within a known hazard area when it collided. The navigator had changed course without permission and without telling the captain who was on a rest break. The navigator also had earlier removed the hazardous area overlays from the navigation charts which is why he was unaware that he had entered a hazard area. There were a number of other mistakes and misinformation that nearly caused the loss of the boat. It was only the professionalism of the rest of the crew that saved the boat from being lost. Divers at Guam inspecting the damage to the boat reported there was sand, gravel, and rocks in both forward ballast tanks, indicating the boat had run aground. The official report has been released and is publicly available with only minimal redactions.

She is clearly not AI; she is clearly an approximately 30 year old Chinese-born Australia-educated woman who receives emailed scripts that she reads off and sends back to the channel for the narration of videos. But yes, it would be an improvement if she spoke to the audience rather than just recorded herself reading the words.

I'll add onto the War Game thing. The US military constantly "ties their hands behind their back" during them. The US has rarely ever used full capabilities during them. One, it helps them learn. Two, it keeps other militaries from truly knowing the full capabilities when used in tandem.
