I heard that “God has a plan for you” gospel for 20 years. My life truly changed when I heard the actual full gospel, that I was a sinner, an enemy of God, who could be forgiven bc of what Jesus did. Nothing else matters but that- I’m no longer chasing some huge destiny I thought I was entitled to. That first way is a vanity. Churches need to tell the real gospel but sadly- they don’t. All because you didn't demonstrate enough faith because he only provided poor evidence. @@Symbiote_phantom ..... By entertainment?? Fact!! ..... My husband and I were youth leaders at our church. Our youth pastors at that time would play metal music to 'draw' 'engaged' the kids. Sure we had nearly 200 kids if not alittle more! AND we sat in the 'dark' during the preaching. Which I didn't like at all!! And then afterwards we fed them pizza. Which I didn't have a problem with. HOWEVER!!!!!! These kids ONLY came to church for the music and the pizza! The kids were 'entertained!!' I even asked why they played metal music and their response was......'to draw them in!!' They were entertained!! They stayed in darkest! There was no messages about going to hell! Or run to Jesus before it's too late! Or draw close to Jesus and He will draw close to you! I didn't see any change in those kids because they were 'entertained!!' Over all these years, I've often wondered about them. None of them came to church on a sunday, just wednesday nights. Because that's were the 'fun' was!! Just like Leonard Ravenhill said!! "entertainment if the devil's substitute for joy!'

When I was a kid going to these classical churches I would literally fall asleep and not hear anything. When I moved churches I was more engaged learning and now A leader teaching youth groups. There is no humility in one vocalist standing on the stage as the center of attention with an extravagant costume belting out a tune or someone shredding a guitar for applause and an emotional response that builds their ego. Guess what. If kids fall asleep because they find God’s word boring then that’s a sin that they need to repent from. Not to exchange one sin for a different one; idolizing the talent on the stage.

I went to this church before I left for college but I still go when I return home, but I go for the preaching. No church is perfect but I encourage you all to just please focus on your walk with Christ and if what the church is doing is wrong, then God will deal with them but God knows their hearts and he knows yours. If you are going for the right reason then God will see that in you.

The fact you go for the preaching is a valid counter-point to outsiders slinging rocks at that church. Honestly, I don't know the church at all aside from an acquaintance talking down about them for doing "The Adams Family" there. My reply was, "Well, maybe that connected with Goths.....The Church has done a terrible job of reaching the Goths." He said he didn't care about that, but the Gospel. Well....actually, if a church disrespects a subculture then it's not exactly loving now is it. There are many ways to present the Gospel, God, Jesus, and Christians debate it endlessly, it seems. The logic is disturbing, but all a part of the great falling away, and the watered down church, and Christisn. Unfortunately, many have been programmed to believe this sort of thing is okay, and no big deal. I'd ask myself in this situation: Would Christ be okay with this? Would Christ walk in, clapping His hands, and start be-bopping around? Would Christ put together a concert with worldly music and carnal shows, to get the people to listen to him, and think He's cool? No, of course not. We serve an Holy God, and what's considered normal today by nominal, at best, Christians, is an abomination. Just listen to the girls logic. These churches aren't about Christ, it's one big show, and money grab. Mick...no, a lot of people don't get saved at these churches. Alter calls are no indication of anyone being added to God's Kingdom, and life eternal. Alter calls aren't even scriptural, and they do nothing but cause multitudes to believe they're saved. Most respond to an alter call while being caught up in an emotionally driven moment, but are never changed, within. Anyone can claim to believe, and anyone can repeat a canned prayer, but neither has ever saved anyone. Once the mood of the evening wears off, all is forgotten, in most cases. Alter calls are a sham, because, repeat after me, prayers, are are mis-leading multitudes to their death; believing they're saved because they repeated a prayer, and then left to fend for themselves in this world. I was a false convert for many, many years, and it was because I believed an alter call, at the age of 13, at a summer bible camp, saved me. Alter calls would have people believe that multitudes are being saved around the world, when we know, from scripture, that the path to life eternsl is narrow, and few will find it.

I attended this church and I thank God that He opened my eyes to the true Gospel. I was a new Christian and gave my life to Christ while attending Church by the Glades and I was eager to know who God was but I didn't get any guidance at all in that church. In fact I was told by a church leader that it wasn't about me but "them" ( the lost) Of course it isn't about me but God . But where did I fit in ? If I can't be fed in the church then where exactly do I go ? To their lifegroup which they promote earnestly? Well, I did attend a "lifegroup" but it is exactly what it sounds like, all about how to do life. Not to mention how eager most members wanted to match make in there. In 2019 I did what most Christians rarely do ...I read the bible from beginning to end for the first time . God transformed me and opened my eyes to His truth. Then I saw Lindsay Davis's video on Bethel church which led to the American gospel . And it was a strong good bye to church by the glades . I pray that other people's eyes are opened. While serving at Church by the Glades I saw many people who are lost and wanted to know Jesus but are given a water down gospel 😔 It's terrifying how many false converts there are every year that come from these mega churches . Pray for them my brothers and sisters 🙏🏽

I remember watching a video about a pastor who brought another pastor here from Africa to see his church. It was a worldly church like this one. When it was all over, the American pastor asked the African pastor what he thought of the service. The African pastor replied, "It's amazing what you all have done here without the Holy Spirit." That was a "WOW" moment.

Africa, like probably all across the world, suffers also from emotionally charged "exciting" worship services that could easily be criticized by fellow Christians from the outside as "without the Holy Spirit". Then again, those emotional Christians could easily judge so-called Bible-Teaching communities as boring, cold and "without the Holy Spirit". A never-ending disagreement in the Church.

As Christians, we do not have to use worldly means to get people into the church to or keep there - that's the Holy Spirit's work. Our job is to give people the "Truth" of the gospel and the Holy Spirit will either drawl them or drive them. We are called to be separate from the world in all things. We are called to glorify God according His word! This no more than a night club entertainment. This reminds me so much of Bethel and Hillsong worship! Where is the modesty of dress. in regards to the lady who was talking, I don't think she is convinced, just her body language says it in a way. These "churches" are like the ones described in Revelation that are lukewarm. They have an appearance of Godliness but denying His power. The power of the Gospel. I think sharing The Gospel can be presented in ways that are understandable because His word makes it that way through The Power of The Holy Spirit. This really grieves me because this is not the way we should be presenting The Gospel or introducing people to what is supposed to be standing out from the rest of the world. It affraims that there isn't a change or need for one. However, if anyone who goes there is truly His, The Holy Spirit will ALWAYS bring them out and lead them into ALL truth.

Hello, I am a member of this church and I totally respect your interpretation and opinion of what you’re conveying cause it is unconventional their approach with their production for the worship portion. I can say without bias ashen I started coming to this church, I wanted to believe that their emphasis was on the concert/production value and not the word of god but the reality is that I was completely wrong. As a 30 year old male who went through his 20’s feeling alone in his Christian faith due to small percentages of people my age not having any faith at all. They have many 18-30 year old events and I can tell you seeing close to 400-500 young adults congregate together twice a month for their young adult program called Rally was truly incredible and made me feel connected to a group of young individuals who had also struggled finding social circles where Jesus our lord was at its emphasis. The pastor at this church after worship is concluded always brings a message rooted in the word of god and is not misconstrued or misrepresented in modern terms for attraction purposes only. He is a highly respectful and god loving pastor who truly just wants to get people into church so they can hear the word of god and not his own interpretations that dilute gods written word. My mother never wanted t on go to church and despised it and after convincing her to go with me her son, she has not stopped coming since and we have found the most beautiful and important thing on earth to bond over and spend time together with cause of this church.

Because it's not like there's exciting things in the Bible like, oh, all of the military battles, God parting the Red Sea for Moses, Lazarus getting revived, Elijah duking it out with the Baal prophets on Mt. Caramel... you know actual exciting things to base a sermon around that for some reason very few preachers seem to do properly. We don't need all this secular stuff in Christianity to be exciting, though then again, the exciting stuff isn't the whole point like it is in this church-themed concert venue.

I’ve gone to some churches that had a lot of gimmicks to get people to come to church, and gimmicks are very effective in getting worldly people in the door. The best churches I’ve gone to, with the most memorable sermons were ones that expounded on the Bible through expository preaching. That’s never boring, and never needs the bells and whistles that go along with “seeker-friendly” churches. “Seeker friendly,” in fact, is a misnomer. If they truly were seeking, they’d be satisfied with hearing the word preached verse by verse.

There are plenty of good, high energy worship songs that exclusively glorify God that any church is free to use in their service. For newcomers, the lyrics may not resonate at first but the beat, rhythm, and everything musical still can. Personally, I've been a born again, Spirit filled Christian for 13 years now so some of the songs I'm singing the words to God from my heart, but even I don't do that with every song.

In 2 samuel chapter 6, King David went with his men, to bring the ark of God to Jerusalem, now in the book numbers, the ark should carry only on shoulder of the Levites, but king David brought a new cart, in verse 5, they're playing all kinds of music instruments, singing and dancing to God, while they're on their way, the oxen shook the cart, and a man who's name was Uzzah from the line of Judah, put forth his hands on the ark, and the anger of God smote him, and he died on the spot, what happened? The king was thinking new age, new style, but God never change, this should be a lesson for modern day christians, just as King David think he was doing his best, and feeling good about it, he was not pleasing God, his service to God, was not in line with his will, this is a lesson we should all taken in consideration.

Amen Elsa! Before I was born-again and Spirit filled I couldn't stand church. Then when I was saved and spirit-filled I was attending a church that wasn't being operated by the Spirit. I would fall asleep practically. It wasn't until I started watching true preachers of the Word on KZbin that I found that desire for church, the Word, and the things of God. Sometimes Ill spend 6-7 hours seeking God and I can't find it in me to stop. There's a drive thats only from the work of the Spirit. It's sad to see that these churches don't understand that and belive that they need to entertain people to lead them to God, when the Holy Spirit will glorify God and bring those who are truly lost to a place of not only repentance but a place of meeting the True Living God. How cool is that?! That we serve THE Living God, who gives life! I pray these churches get that revelation and stop with the broadway shows. Matthew 7 13¶“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14“For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. I know David from the 1980s. I first met him when he came from Sheridan Hills Baptist Church as a new seminary graduate. He worked at our VBS. There were signs and beginnings at that time of this foolishness that is happening today at the Glades. He was given by the local Baptist association a church plant in Weston. During this time he had issues that caused him to leave the church. Granted he has good on-camera presence, but he goes way to far, and I believe the ones who will suffer from this will be the attendees. The Gospel is not given nor is it remembered at this church. What is remembered is the packaging. This is the sad state of the church. David knows better.

This reminds me of the time years ago, when I asked a missionary why they didn't share the gospel until after they feed people. He said something like, "They won't listen to us on a empty stomach." Years later, I realized that feeding people first will NOT bring them to the gospel and that the gospel should be primary with feeding secondary. Just look at John 6. Jesus fed the 5000, but when he started teaching them, a lot of them went away and did not accept him as Savior. The gospel does not depend on a full belly or a song and dance show! It depend on Jesus and the Holy Spirit! Stop giving them the world then expecting them to "deny themselves and take up their cross and follow" Jesus. Look at the 3000 who became saved on the Day of Church by the Glades people don't read their Bibles very often.

I agree. I rather be entertained by the word of God than by a packed production material of music. I have been ushering at CBG for over 16 months now. I greet people and watch everyone as they walk in with a humble smile and be nice to everyone. But the truth is I do not go in to be entertained but to see what teaching of God I bring home. I love music don't get me wrong and music about God is beautiful but not the case here. I think church should be a place where the pastor teaches other about our God. A pastor who is willing to engage with the congregation and attention to any concerns, questions and one to one conversation with a pastor. I serve and honor only God and serve and protect God's followers.

During 'worship,' I kept getting hit in my closed eyes with an over-bright strobe light that would scan the crowd... and was blasted out with overly loud music. For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell[e] as yourselves.” In regards to this church, when the lights go out and the party ends those who have no knowledge whatsoever of what Christianity is will walk away lost, empty, and reject the God that they never knew.

Those who worship God Must Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. A Witness Oath is to tell the Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing but the Truth. We are to be His Witnesses. Christians are commanded to Go and tell the Truth (Jesus Christ) to all creatures, and to the utter most parts of the earth. Satan uses scriptures mixed with lies (untruths) for devastating long term results. This is a fulfillment of the Word of God though. "They shall heap to themselves teachers having itching ears." This church is wrong on so many levels that is breaks my heart. Beware the time is coming when they persecute and kill you thinking they are doing God a favor.
