Revelation Online | Occultist | Class Overview

Holy shit yes this is my class. Just perfect. I may have a secondary class (which may be vanguard or spiritshaper), but occultist is for sure my main class. I love playing healers, but I feel most of them are too stuck with healing and have too little dps which makes it difficult while soloing (you can't be in a group all the time after all), but the occultist is an hybrid and the animations are amazing

Occultist seems so fricking OP... they can DPS, AoE DPS AND Single target heal + AoE heal + SUPPORTING AURA ? too much man.. this class gonna be everywhere and it'll probably be the best solo'ing class.

from what i can tell playing the class, I expect it to be really strong in PvP, but it will get outclassed by more dedicated PvE roles in most cases. I cant out damage a swordmage, and it can't out heal a spiritshaper. It does amazing burst, really good CC, and really helpful AOE heals...all of these are really nice for PvP but kinda meh in PvE

I didn't like sword mage personally, I played one up to about 25 and felt the switching mechanic was too cumbersome and the resource mechanic was annoying.

Alexis Gimon I heard the healing gets even better at higher levels, but not so great healing at lower level. Also don't forget the passive of 50% HP on allies or enemies greatly increases your healing/damage. As far as I can see, it's an AoE "Mage" of the game.

Nimu Ki Vanguard is the one with the CC, right? I know it's one of the tanky ones but i cant remember... Maybe the one with the shield? Either way, both of the tank classes have a lot of CC anyways, so they're very useful in PvP if they can get close to the enemies, lol. I like them a lot! :D

I played all the classes over on the CN version before trying to determine my class. And I was at a toss up between Occultist and gunslinger. This without a doubt shifted me to Occultist. This is.. fantastic. I'm in love with this class.

- You are correct, the "dark demon" can be "leaved" and it will keep nuking while allowing occu to do other things. - Secondary weapon, ive read ppl calling it "Horrocrux"... idk if that will be the correct name. Good video dude, as allways :D

THIS is the class that made me care for Revelation (and then the rest kicked in). I love the dark theme and always played something alongside "Warlock/Necromancer" but always had to have a second char that was a healer/buffer because I love the support role...this will completly satisfy me in ONE class

Awesome video! The very idea that you can switch between light/dark (healing/dps) is pretty awesome. I think that even if you go full dps, some of the light skills (such as extra dmg, temp protection, absorption skills, minor speed buffs, debuffing) will be VERY useful when the holy trinity suddenly stumbles and the occulist can preserve the party until either the main healer/tank stands back up. Hype for this game and this class!

it's a very different class compared to others.i mean I usually play supp classes in all of the games I play.so I think occultist is a good supp class.you dps the boss and go to healing mode to help the healer and heal yourself and buff and boom boom boom. wow great class. thanks for the great video cryy.we all appreciate your hard work ^^

don't worry once you hit level 30 if I remember right on any of the classes you can go to an npc that will teleport you to an area where you can try out any of the classes, and hitting 30 would only take around an hour, so yeah

the sub weapon may be a phylactery which is something lich's use to hold souls inside of in horror stories and such and it would fit the class lore given they are called warlocks or necromancers in other regions.

Hey Cryy. Firstable nice vid once again and this occultist might be my personal favourite class at this point. What is your opinion about tab-targeting vs. action combat? Are those equally good options or does tab targeting suit better in end game PvP for example or is it totally depending of class/role you are playing? i am courious, because i am interested to play with occultist and with both playstyles dps/healer, but i am not sure can you be enough competitive to play as a healer with action combat mode. Also i am asking because i would really like to play with action style, because i am kind of bored to tab targetin combat mechanics, but if tab is more reasonable option from competitive point of view, i might have to choose it over action.

So far, this is a tough one, but I think that I will pick this as my favorite. I do love classes that are are support/dps hybrids. Dark Magic classes are also my favorite. And, I do very well at healing.

Wazzup Cry, you forgot to tell about occultists ultimate skill cancel: after your transform to a demon or an angel you can cancel that skill and leave this form, angel or demon will continue to stay where you left him and attack enemy/heal ally for their whole duration, some wise occultists can summon 2 their elites in short time (if you will get ult energy generation passives).

Hey, general question with the ability and base stats "points": Is it possible to reset your abilities and base stats and re-build them (sry if that's an already asked question but i haven seen/read too much about revelation) so that you can really try out everything? free until level 49, then I think its a cash shop item. Even before 49 it takes an item but you get lots of them early on. This could all change for our client.

hm ok, well i hope it'll change cuz u know how it is with "your own play style build", most of the time there are 1 or 2 viable builds that are efficient on a character and the rest isn't useful at all and it would be pretty annoying to lvl up your character, spend your points in skills and stats just to see at max lvl "my build is completely pintless/useless" and then you'd have to buy sth to change it :/ But we'll see, anyways thx c:

So are these the beta names? Translated names had the transformations listed as "Archon of Darkness/Light" respectively, I believe... And the skill descriptions were different, too... Maybe it depends on what site you look at? >.

It sounds a bit like the first iteration of the Blood Vampire in Forsaken World. If played correctly, you could deal moderate damage while healing, concentrate on healing, concentrate on decent damage output (when there was another healer) or even tanking thanks to the way Bloodbath worked. All in all, it was your all-purpose support class back then, now it's more of a healer than anything else (though you still deal a bit of damage on the side because of how your abilities work). But I liked these options and have been intruiged by classes like that ever since. Add to that that I'm more of a support focused player and it the Occultist becomes my first character once Revelation is released. I really hope that a complete hybrid playstyle will be possible in end game and with enough players, yet I wouldn't mind focusing on one for the group. Let's hope that the cash shop doesn't ruin it.

I'm rolling either Spirit Shaper or Occultist. While I do love being main healer in raids etc, I also loved Bard from Rift, which Occultist reminds me a lot of. So being a support oriented Occultist doesn't seem like a bad idea... still got some time to think about this though.

All classes look so epic, that I don't know which class I wanna play. I was trying the gunner yesterday and it has some really badass abilities and does insane amount of damage. I have to download english patch to continue playing occultist though, because I got stuck in some quest where I don't know what to do. Any recommendations for en patch? Also, thanks for the video. ronit ganguly Yeah, they seem to be vulnerable as hell, because my gunner still doesn't have any deffensive or cc skill... He seems to be good in group dungeons or raids as high dmg dealer, but not in pvp or as solo. Vanguard seemed to be much better balanced when I played him, although he has slightly less impactful and flashy skills.

How is the raiding in this game? The raiding is what always gets me hooked on a new mmo. I love progression, not being able to go in with your guild and 1 shot it. Needing to follow mechanics to near perfection and being severely punished if you mess up is what I love. Is this game like that in any way for the raiding?

The skill set appears to be very complementary to the spirit shaper's healing. One has HoTs, the other has shields with mitigation. I'm very interested to see how things work out at cap with gear. Thanks for the vid.

You didn't tell them the down sides of how you can't move when casting some of the skills(it's a big down side to me). It has such a variety of skills which needs a lot of skill to use. Gonna stick to blademaster I love fast movements. Great video tho.

The five energy ball skill thingy can be re-spec which allow you to move while casting, you can do that at level 50

Apparently you've never played the Warlock in BnS. It's very viable for class to not move with some skills, it balances out generally with some defensive abilities (Counter and Z in Warlock and Heals here) and also having quite a lot of Dps should you manage to hit the damage. This class is gonna rival the sniper class for damage if she can just stand there doing damage, and in PvP, be able to fully heal themselves quickly the moment they go low, the proceed to do damage again with virtually no down time.

More or less all of them. Self healing for occultists is mainly about positioning. (Ex: Alot of the skills detonate to heal nearby allies) Which means that if you're near the ally or skill when you detonate it THEORETICALLY You would receive the beneficial effects as well.

As a person who prefers Sustained DPS more than Burst DPS, which side of the line would you say Occultist falls? I'll probably end up playing it as offensive supports are always my favorites (even if they're rarely represented), but if Occultist is more of a sustained DPS class, that would only make me that much happier.
