This model was first issued in 1981, I know, I was in grade school and got it when it was first released in 1981... and is virtually unchanged except the 2009 packaging and extra parts for an F-14D @6:42 in your video. The parts/trees layout (molds) and decals have not changed at all. The interesting thing about this newer package is the picture on the cover shows a T'cat with drop tanks but the kits comes with none. Nice little video you did here with a vintage model kit!

I think this kit is a reissue from the late 80's early 90's so detail and fit is not great but with a little work and filler it turns in to a decent looking plane.

How difficult would it be to add a little polaroid camera into the pilot's hands? I want to get this in combination with a F-5 Tiger and make a "Top Gun" display.

They are both the same kit really. In 1993 they added a couple extra parts to make the D model. The A model kit goes back to 1981. The intakes are not correct but I have yet to see a kit where they are. This would be a good kit if you are just starting out.

Yup.. Replaced it with a Macross VF 1 Skull squadron Decal XD

Hey ..mine came with a really fucked up Felix the cat decal in the back... did yours come with that as well. any ways i got it replaced with a Macross VF1J Skull squadron Decal :D any ways I subbed . since you have a good collection . do reply :D
