built that kit when it first came out way back when under monogram.did not have some of the issues like you are having.the clear part went on perfect.with some of these new kits under revell now i see they have some problems with them.i don't understand how if they are using the same old molds unless they retooled them and really screwed up.i want to thank you on your tape ups they really help me in future builds on what to look for.

Molds wear with age, it could just be Revell not keeping the mold properly surfaced.

Mike I was beating up the canopy just recently and went through all those issues..it is horrendous. I tried to close up the two side windows. I also tried to correct the interface where the clear interfaces with fuselage. It is not square as depicted on the fuselage ..more like the clear with rounded corners. SO many issues. Unfortunately it was too much and I have set it aside. As you pointed out it is a shame as the rest of it is really pretty good. Usually I can beat any Monogram kit into submission but this one beat me. I will be looking to the GWH kit as I do love the plane.

A company made replacement clear parts for the kit. I think it was Vector. You can find them on eBay but the clear resin sometimes yellows.

The side open window on the cockpit is wrong it should be open up not bend down

レベル、(旧 モノグラム)のブラックウイドーはモールド、ディテール共に良好ですが、なぜかカウルフラップが右側だけ開いている と、言う不思議。その後、グレートウォールホビーのキット(初回ロット)を買ったら今度は、カウルフラップのパーツが無かったと、言う・・・😅(苦笑) 仕方ないので、モノグラムのキットより移植。セカンドロットからは、ちゃんとパーツが揃っているそうです。

Really? You should count my Mustang menagerie here as well as my BUFF octuplets here all 1/72 scale- if only I could get Paramount Pictures ok for naming one 7 of 9 :)
