Revell 1962 Corvette. Custom color mix! Candy Strawberry!

This model represents the first collaboration with Mrs BG and I. She picked the options of the car AND custom mixed the body color!! We felt "Candy Strawberry" summed up the shade perfectly!

Another awesome story and great memories I’m sure. As for the two tone side coves I believe it was a feature for 61 and in 62 they were all monochrome (I believe this body style is the 61/62 per the tail)

Hi Scott! Yeah the box art didn't have the scallops painted a different color, but Mrs BG insisted. This body style I have trouble telling the differences on.

Hi Bryan. The 58 Vette looks great. The Candy Strawberry is an excellent color. Mrs. BG is a master at paint mixing. The silver scallops look terrific. You did your job masking. Time has provided you a curbside Vette. 🤭 I've found Revell/Monogram kits are always better than AMTs, even the good ones. 😉 I am enjoying your Wednesday, why do I keep this series. Someday maybe you can pass on to me the not burning through the paint polishing technique. No matter how careful I try to be, I catch an edge somewhere and have to touch it up. I'm running to have supper, then cookies. 🍪

I have a bunch of old kits that I I've kept and I don't remember what clears that I used but some are still nice looking and some have yellowed horribly. But! It is an excuse to build another! lol

It's a 62 Corvette Brian. And why in the world is "Why did I keep it?" Even a question unless the person asking is a hard core waster. Buy it. Throw it away. Buy another because it's newer and throw it away. That's a waster. Worse on all accounts than a hoarder. They fill up landfills with things that still had a great deal of usefulness left. They follow trends like a flock of sheep. Baaaa. Baaaaa. Willing to spend stupid money on something, then very soon discard it because something newer is in front of the flock.
