Raoul, you are so right about the flood of incorrect information on musclecars, it's difficult to find exact original as the factory build them, information. Yeah Camaro was so common back then we called them 'belly button' cars, like Mustangs. Like your parts swapping and kit bash information. Definitely a fine example for display!

Thanks. Sometimes it is good to buy the How To Restore books on some cars. I may end up buying it for the Camaro. I have one on Thunderbirds and it is a big help.

Ralph, My neighbor had two. An RS, and a SS. Both really awesome. Years later, he was still driving the RS.

Very cool! There was a guy in my neighborhood that had 5, 69 Camaros in the late 80's early 90s. I don't remember the specifics on 4 of them but the one I remember is he had a 69 Pace Car Convertible. That orange and white one really stood out!

As a Camaro guy, great job! Most people don't know that much and will put out some wrong info. I appreciate your knowledge and your build. A 69 Camaro Z-28 clone was my first car. I have since owned most of the years, but never had another 69 like my first. Thanks for the vid.

Thank you! I appreciate that. I like to research the cars but 69 Camaro are a bit hard as they had so many options. Plus so much miss information. Lots of really nice custom ones out there as well. I like my history but if I actually owned one it would be modified as well. Similar to our Chevelle!

If you have ever bought a stencil kit to paint the Z/28 stripes on a real Camaro it states in the instruction sheet that the stripe on right side of trunk lid is wider than the left side.
@TheMuscleCarModeler4 жыл бұрын
That is interesting! I did buy the stencil kit to paint my real 71 Chevelle. Worked out real well. I like the factory stripes on the 70-72 Z/28 and the 70-72 Chevelle. Never liked them on the 67-69 Z/28. To me they look funny that the stripes don't go to the glass, they loop around and go to the edge of the trunk or hood. That seamed backwards to me. Also on the 69 the hood stripes are closer together than the ones on the trunk.

Are the rear tires aftermarket? I've been looking at "Big & Little" type tires on the aftermarket, but I haven't found any. What's your source?
@TheMuscleCarModeler3 жыл бұрын
These are the Revell kit tires and they are the same size as the front. Revell Kits are hard to find tires for. They are different sizes and I usually find them in other Revell kits but not many big and littles.
@markforster64573 жыл бұрын
@@TheMuscleCarModeler Thank you. Maybe it's just me, but kit tires look small to me. I have a 1/24 diecast car and the tires are a bit bigger than kit tires of the same scale. I also think engines in most kits look small in the engine compartment. I wonder how 1/20 scale engines and tires would fit and how they would look with a 1/24 scale car.
@markforster64573 жыл бұрын
The easiest solution is to start with the kit drag slicks.
@toddautobody51024 жыл бұрын
They called the stripes on the side hockey stripes
@TheMuscleCarModeler4 жыл бұрын
Hockey Stick stripes is what most people called them or SS stripes since they were only available on the SS for 69 models. Chevrolet simply called them D90 stripe package. D96 was also available on the SS for 69. That is the pinstripe ones that started around the wheel wells and went down the body line that was at the top of the wheel wells. 67 and 68 also used the same codes but they were different stripes . D90 on a 68 is also SS models only and this is the mustache stripe that goes over the nose and down the doors.
