I have now done a bit of homework and found out it was all wooden.

Hi Paul , I'm just watching the build now , as you say , all wood , in fact sheeted in plywood , hence the lack of rivets .

Good to see you build the Mossie Paul, hopefully it will be a good build for you. Bit of a suggestion try Revell Contacta Professional for some of the parts, especially on some of the larger areas👍.

The ridged tail wheel design prevented shimmying/castoring during take off & landing ...Like the mossie myself Monkery .The wooden wonder they called it and you will wonder how Revell intended you to build it...😆😆

First off Paul, that's how the Mosquito tail wheel was, second, the Mosquito was an all wood airframe (sheeting was plywood), third, the tail wheel bracket should've been behind the locators. Otherwise, she's looking great. Looks like PE seatbelts or not??? Looking forward to episode 2😉👌👏👏👏👏👏👏

The rear wheel was made like that to stop it shimmying. next time you go to Tesco and use a trolley, the wheels will be the same.

Nice one Paul. You do love your old Revell stuff don't you!! that tail wheel is correct, it's called an "anti-shimmy" tyre. Please remember in future.... if the camera is not switched on it will not work.

You said it in the video, if it looks like a mossy at the end of it then perfect, if you want detail go shell out £199.99 for the tamiya kit. this was one of my first kits coming back to the hobby and thoroughly enjoyed it. you got to do the invasion stripes cause it looks Stunning. also not rivet detail because there were no rivets lol all wooden airframe and skinning. nicknamed the "Wooden Wonder"

Paul, You may wish to confirm that the tail-wheel strut is still firmly attached to its bulkhead (part 14) after the issue with getting the tail end of the fuselage halves to meet up. It looked to me, as you were moving the bulkhead around to get the fuselage halves together, as if the tail-wheel strut might have been loosened. Also, I'm inferring from your continued use of the Extra Thin Quick Setting glue that the regular Extra Thin is still not working properly with the Revell plastic. If you haven't confirmed this, you may wish to do so, as the regular Extra Thin may give you stronger joints (due to the plastic doing a more complete job of melding together).
@plasticmonkey5594 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Tron ; Think i loosend the tailwheel strut to be honest ,both glues seem to be working on this kit ,When filming you do tend to rush a bit and not give the glue time to dry
