Just come back to refer to this brilliant material, as I have started one of these. All this hidden interior work. I simply don;t have the time. So i am going to watch this carefully and cut necessary corners to eliminate the detail. I'm becoming an efficient model maker to put the hours in where it counts. This helps a lot

Looking great Nigel for a 32 scale the cockpit looks really neat and tidy I will be catching up on this build series the last Revell plane I did was the 1/48 scale Memphis Belle diorama with motors in the props and nav lights, not a bad kit but it's showing its age now 👍👍

Very happy you are doing this one Nige! I've just got mine, it came yesterday and I'll be starting later today. It looks like an amazing kit for the money, I know there isn't much after market stuff to throw at it yet, but I have ordered a seatbelt set and masks. Glad you covered the cockpit color in this video as there are so many conflicted opinions on line. Look forward to the next video.

So pleased you're doing this one Nige. My first kit back in the hobby last year was the Revell 1/32 Spitfire IIa and despite some of the reviews that I read, it wasn't too bad. 1/32 isn't too fiddly and it presented a good opportunity to practice some techniques (including correcting my mistakes!). Not too many parts, so allowed me to make progress at a decent pace. Also a good price, so I think I'll do this one to get some more practice in ahead of the Kotare Spitfire.

It’s a classic kit as far as I’m concerned. Great detail, not many issues and cheap. Hopefully Revell can deliver again with the hurricane.

I doff my cap to your cockpit, I've just finished assembling mine and a found it very fiddly, a metric ton of clean up and so fragile and it looks about 20% as good as yours.

Nigel the radiator on the hurricane is painted silver, the airframe tubes are not aluminium but steel and it depended where they were manufactured, could be gray or silver.

Acetone will evaporate at 26-29C Butyl Acetate has an evaporation rate of 7.5 which makes it "fast evaporating" (compared to a standard rate of 1.0). So yes, TET could go off if left open (especially in warm environments).

Tamiya Quick set works fine mark, ordinary TET doesn't. Paul tried Revell Contacta which was OK but is not as handy as Tamiya QS.

Tamiya extra thin is definitely very volatile. Here in Brisbane we have had some hotish weather (35-38 C) and half a bottle disappeared because I forgot to fully tighten it by a half turn. Several people have now confirmed that extra thin and Tamiya airbrush cleaner are the same thing - acetone and butyl acetate.

I'm enjoying this build immensely. I do have a question. In your Mosquito build you painted a yellow dot on the armor plating. Was that done on bombers only, or did the fighters have that marking as well?
