@@sandradahl6770Surely by now he’s figured out his “actress wife” plan was to use him to get to William! POW is too worldly and too in love with his beautiful wife and children, too focused on Prince George education and preparing him to wear the crown one day,too dedicated to the Monarchy and his ancestors to give a obviously “adult Entertainment “ pro a second look. He’s filled with rage what she’s done to his beloved dim witted brother , grandmother, his country and citizens. He will not hesitate to take titles, expose ghost kids etc unlike his weak father! I pray we get to watch William take her down and make her answer publicly for the atrocities she’s committed against her family, Royal Family and anyone that’s crossed her path!

Thanks for the insight. I work at a private school and there seems to be no time when parents aren’t allowed to contact me….and they often do at odd hours and on the weekends. @@cheeredenise I also work at a private prep school just outside London. Teachers are advised not to respond to any parents emails after work hours UNLESS it is an urgent safeguarding issue and they are senior leadership positions. Some parents take massive advantage of teachers especially if they pay ££££ to fire off unreasonable emails at any time of the evening or wee hours in the morning. Staff are advised to deal with all non urgent school matters within work hours. I realise it could be completely different in the US.

This is a woman that takes TWO hours with hair and makeup to look like a Ho….remember that she would show up at 11 a.m. at the office with croissants while everyone there has been there since 8.30 or 9 a.m.?

I’m a little behind, but I just saw that the Queen called Meghan “evil” and a “complete catastrophe” a couple of weeks before she died. Everyone was shocked the Queen spoke an ill word about anyone, bc it was said she was the most forgiving person on the planet and kept her opinions to herself. Good for the Queen to use her one insult in life on Meghan. She was evil. The Queen and the Royal Family gave her everything and more and she ruthlessly lied about her experience bc she was infuriated the queen said “hard no” to Harry and Meghan being part time royals. It still makes me really sad the Queen had worked 70+ years to mend race relations with the commonwealth and she had been truly proud of her work- only to have Meghan call the family racist on Oprah. The Queen didn’t get to look back at her accomplishments over her 70 years with pride in her final years, bc she was being bombarded with Harry and Meghan’s drama and their Royal brand taking hit after hit from them for no reason. Meghan was evil for this. And Harry was too.

The first project I would have launched would be to learn the UK culture. It wasn’t just the timing of the E-mails, but the MANNER in which Meghan gave orders. Mostly, employees of the royals call “orders” requests, and the royals soft ball their requests. They don’t say “tell so and so I won’t be able to make the time frame.” They usually say, “If you wouldn’t mind, please inform…” It’s a matter of attitude and manners. I remember watching that first ‘Fab Four’ event, which was focussed on mental health as part of the Royal Foundation’s ‘Heads Together’ campaign. It was Catherine’s idea to bring together mental health organisations to share ideas rather than reinventing the wheel in silos. At the time of this event they had already done a lot between the three of them to encourage, especially young boys and men to talk about their struggles with their mental health. She went completely off topic because she had nothing to offer in relation to mental health. It was so tone deaf but we cut her some slack because she and Harry weren’t married yet and we thought she just needed time to find her feet but…. Oh boy, we’re we ever wrong.

I remember watching this Fab Four event too. And I thought Meghan was going to be quiet, not talk too much as she was so new to the family. But she almost took over the conversation by talking about feminism(?). Either she was briefed on what to discuss or she chose to ignore any guidance. I was a bit embarrassed for her but that didn't last long! She should've been told that the RF is not political and she should've been quiet and let the other three talk.

The biggest problem Meghan had with her life as a Royal was that she could not accept that she and Harry were further down the pecking order than William and Catherine. She hated having to walk behind the Wales, she hated having to drive in a car or a carriage behind the Wales, in fact she hated being regarded as less IMPORTANT than the Waleses. The Monarchy is a hierarchical structure and Meghan’s position was fairly low down the ladder and this is what she couldn’t stand. That was really the crux of it all

I've seen a clip of MM attending a public event and showing not only disinterest but also rudeness. I don't remember where the event was, but whoever had hosted it presented MM with a gift. You could tell by the tone of his voice that the gift meant something to his organisation, and he clearly expected her to understand that. She took it, gave it a quick glance and then said to someone who was out of shot, "get my coat". My jaw dropped. It wasn't just very un-royal behaviour which, along with her disinterest and eagerness to get away, must have been a kick in the teeth for the organisation who probably spent weeks planning this event, it was also so very ignorant. She must have known that the whole purpose of royal life is genuine 'service' and that 'service' to the public means constant interaction with it. I would ask why she bothered to marry into the RF, but I think we all know the answer now.

That was at an elderly home - they presented her with a plaque in which she barely looked at it and gave it immediately to her assistant (she was pregnant and wearing that flowered dress that was way too tight). She looked bored to tears and this is what led to her manufacturing all sorts of untrue things so she could leave the RF and the 'unpaid' obligations.

The hierarchical role \ aka walking behind. How Megs pushed through the rows of chairs to get to the row in front, so she & Harry would have Edward & Sofie walk behind them!! that was laughable and crass - had she merely walked normally, she would have found the E & S would have stood aside to allow HER and Harry to proceed (out of the Cathedral) in front of them - but she had to PUSH through the chairs. Awareness? self ! That is how important her place IN FRONT, yes she knew about Royal protocols, but as you have said in previous episodes, she is an American and the rules didn't apply to her.

Here's the thing about sending emails out of work hours that I learned to MY cost; most people take the phones to bed with them and never turn their notifications off incase of an emergency. As I always charge me phone overnight, in the lounge-room, it never occurred to me that others didn't do the same until a friend quickly - and justifiably cranky! - pointed it out to me!

The anecdote about Charles at the end of this episode is a fine example of his petulance in general. Harry, who had been exposed to his father's fits of pique, apparently feels he can behave in the same way and achieve the same results. Camilla is actually Charles' saving grace. She is just about the only person who can 'humour' her husband into being a tad more gracious and sociable. Unfortunately, Harry doesn't have a 'well grounded' woman to bring out the best in him, and we can see the result. The Queen, (may she rest in peace), did her sons no favours in permitting them to grow up with a such a strong sense of entitlement - they ALL needed strong, well grounded, emotionally stable women around them. Diana and Fergie were neither grounded or emotionally stable... Sophie has been a great asset for Edward, as Catherine is for William. Thank heaven for the 'commoners' who have helped keep the modern day 'royals' in touch with the nation and its people.

I believe that Harry owed his previous relationships with Chelsy and Cressida to his royal status. Had he been exactly the same but without his royal status and just doing drugs, drinking, not interested in education or bettering himself and overcoming his traumas, the 2 girls would have not gotten in a relationship with him. Once the prince aura vanished and they got to know the real Harry, they both wanted out as none of the royal stuff would even be worth it anymore. Unlike Meghan who was only after the royal trappings, fortune, status and this is why she stuck it out with this manbaby.

I can rest your mind about the pen (Charles) - the Queen had just died, he’d just ascended to the role of King, they were travelling the entirety of the UK, I doubt he had much sleep, & those documents being signed instantly become historical documents, just as we still have documents from William the Conqueror. I can’t imagine *anyone* in a similar position not being fraught at getting every detail right, especially when the very reason you are signing those documents is based upon the very recent death of someone you loved.

True enough, and I have no desire to paint the king in a bad light, I’m just saying that if he acted petulant, there are rumors that support that personality trait. Is it his only quality? Of course not, but if he acts uncharitably he shouldn’t be given a pass just because we like him. He was rude about the pens, and of course he was grieving but it wasn’t a surprise. She was very sick, he is in his 70s and has had a lifetime of training on how to behave for the cameras. I think he was a little overly ruffled about the pens; even so, he still has my respect.

My employment background is a Director of Human Resources position for various companies in the US and Australia over the past 20 years. Cultural norms should be respected and can be highly distressing for the lower level employee receiving out of hour emails. It is a violation of their personal time off. They would definitely feel pressure to respond. It could easily be realized by her given she wouldn't be receiving emails from other senior royals in the way hour's (though I believe she would have noticed and decided to use this as a form of passive aggressive power and control). Particularly if word were getting around the team of her volatile personality, they might have felt quite anxious receiving those emails and feeling they must drop everything and start work. It's an indication of her own self importance.

I finally broke down and started listening to Revenge on audible. Without question, it is NOT as enjoyable as following along here with Cheere Denise. The only thing I’d like to share is kinda personal and relates to King Charles being grumpy. It’s my belief after seeing his hands that he’s suffering from an autoimmune disease that is likely painful. I was diagnosed a few years ago and it’s literally stolen my personality. Although my friends say they can’t believe I’ve kept my cheerful attitude while suffering so much, I know how hard it is to be sweet & nice when you’re in horrible pain that comes from overdoing. Which I think he may do to keep up his duties. I noticed he looked strained as the coronation wore on and I felt for him. I can’t imagine continuing to put up a front so people won’t say you’re unable to perform the role you’ve waited your entire life for. I was forced to quit my career sadly. I just wanted to add this to give a perspective that I wouldn’t have had prior to my diagnosis. Loved this chapter! Happy end of school year!🌺

He criticized KC very strongly before the coronation. Then, he recently took shots at Camilla, claiming that Catherine and everyone didn’t curtsy to Camilla because Catherine was furious with her for inviting twenty members of her family. How Bower reached this conclusion is questionable. Who or what were his sources? I think the success of his book has gone to his head. I don’t see anyone calling him out for making this outrageous claim.

Ninaki Priddy's mother filmed her 9th birthday party, at which Meghan (also 9) informed the other girls that she wanted to play Your Royal Highness and she would be the Queen. Her first royal act was to order the girls to make 900,000 cookies and sew me a nice dress.. Later, she had changed into a party dress and was wearing a gold crown. She essentially hijacked Ninaki's party. It's clear that her ideas about what being royal means and her wish to be the person directing everyone else were formed early and haven't changed. Meghan did completely take over the entire interview, as a fiancée of a Royal, she wasn’t even an official member of the Royal family at that time, I think Meghan should of shown some grace and restraint. It wasn’t the Meghan show, but, that is how it came across. I actually liked Meghan during that time (I 100% don’t anymore after everything she has done and continues to do) and I remember cringing when I saw it, I felt embarrassed for her, there’s protocol and decorum and Meghan showed neither.

Email observation: I worked for 30 years in a department of a large university where the Chair would send out random emails that offered extra monetary opportunities (classes to teach, etc.). These were openly awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. This was done to train us to constantly check our email. We had no alternative but to check our email if we wanted to make extra money. Some of us who didn’t need extra work could afford to ignore the emails at 1:00 AM, but many new colleagues needed the extra work and learned to check at all hours if we wanted to work more. It was that or quit. Bosses like Meghan are the same way: they know how to manipulate employees to achieve these sorts of goals. Glad I’m retired, of course! 😊

If you're interested in some facts about Diana's death, try and get hold of a copy of The Bodyguard's Story, it's by Trevor Rees Jones and sets out the events leading to the fateful night in Paris. The real events, the fact that Diana, like Meghan, used to call the paparazzi to let them know where she was. It also gives an account of the injuries suffered by Trevor and what happened immediately after the crash. It details how Mohammed al Fayed tried to change the narrative of what happened to suit his view of the royal family are responsible for her death and Dodi's. The threats he made to Trevor and his family to get them to either keep silent or back MAF up. To a man who was just doing his job, who, along with his fellow bodyguard, tried to argue that Henri Paul shouldn't have been driving but did so on Dodi's explicit orders. All set against the background of Trevor's severe injuries and him trying to recover. Even if you don't make KZbin series out of it, it is worth a read. It opened my eyes to many things. It wasn't just a case of evil paparazzi killing Diana as Harry believes there was a lot going on that night in Paris. The book is not in print but there are secondhand copies, I got mine on Amazon UK.

I found your opening comments about staff response to Meghan's emails and her subsequent response to the staff very interesting. I'm a Brit, living and working in the U.K. but with a close working relationship with many institutions in the U.S. so I think I can comment from both points of view. I will also point out that I have not personally read 'Spare' or 'Revenge' and all my information on it has been from your reviews, Cheere Denise. Onto emailing 'etiquette' in the U.K. I think the fundamental issue here is that, for Meghan, this is her life and for her staff, this is their job, and she failed to appreciate the difference. I gather she became upset / annoyed when emails she sent early, before accepted office hours, were not acknowledged or acted on. That's her lack of appreciation of the U.K. attitude to 'office hours', I am sure, and something she would have been given guidance on, had she chosen to listen. A modicum of common sense would have told her that it's not easy for staff who are getting up, getting ready, travelling into the offices from early morning until 8.30 or so instead of having her luxury of falling out of bed and being at her 'desk' in her home in an instant. This is pre-pandemic, remember, when working from home was rare. There are also reports of her "bombarding" indirect staff (i.e. staff employed not directly by Harry's office but as general staff at KP or Buck House or under Prince Charles' umbrella as it was then) with emails and voicemails when they were on leave or sick leave and, I have heard reports, in one case to a lady on maternity leave. That is not acceptable in ANY workplace, one would have thought. But Meghan carried on, even when it was pointed out to her that X would not respond because they were on leave of whatever nature. We know, from many sources, that Meghan rejected all offers of assistance including from Sophie (now Duchess of Edinburgh) who was specially chosen by the Queen to support and guide Meghan because of Sophie's particularly gentle nature and the fact that she was an untitled outsider who made a few errors before becoming an accepted and highly successful member of 'The Firm'. It has been reported that Meghan was very rude to Sophie and was uninterested in her advice. Meghan has chosen her own path. It could have been SO different. She could have been a very successful member of the Firm and her children could have grown up surrounded by their cousins and the wider family instead of isolated in that toxic compound surrounded by people with serious mental health issues. Those poor children! They didn't ask for this and they are the ones who will suffer.

I think Harry chose her because she fed his paranoia, resentments, jealousies etc. She validated all of those negative feelings he's had over the years, and gave him the permission he wanted to express them. True, the Royals are not supposed to be out to promote themselves, but it's not quite correct to say they are not influencers. No, not like the Kardashians or Jeffrey Star, but amongst the elite, rich and powerful they hold considerable sway. (The very respected late Queen most so.) It is part of what is commonly referred to as the 'soft power' they wield.
